Adreno, formerly Adrenaline, is named in part by the innate human physiological energy response that is driven by excitement and fear of the unknown. Underwater exploration of the unknown has always been the driving influence in why divers have been so drawn to the sea. It is this passion that has driven Adreno to fast become the World’s Best Dive Store. The Adreno journey had humble beginnings in 2001 in the back streets of Woolloongabba in Brisbane, where former Australian Spearfishing Champion Tim Neilsen recognised a demand for well-informed professional customer service backed by a full range of quality spearfishing and scuba diving products.

As enthusiasm for underwater experiences in spearfishing, scuba diving, freediving and other water sports has grown, so too has the Adreno following. In September 2015 Adreno opened its second 850sqm store in a prime Sydney location where over 500 customers queued up for the official opening! Our third store in Melbourne opened a year later in 2016 and then Perth in 2018 and then Gold Coast in 2021 with again over 500 customers queuing up for each grand opening!

Adreno is not just a retail store, it’s an experience. Today, over 70 passionate team members now work across the four stores, distribution warehouse and head office to deliver a seamless online and in-store shopping experience. With the largest range of spearfishing, scuba diving, freediving and wetsuit products in Australia, and only recruiting passionate experts who live and breathe underwater adventure, Adreno truly has made itself a destination store.

It’s been an exciting journey so far - and there’s still much more to come. At our ADRENO Stores we offer a wide range of SSI Scuba Diving Courses. To obtain full details please email training-goldcoast@adreno.com.au or call our Instructor Certifier Paul Leslie on 07 5649 6971.

★★★★☆ Julian Rocks - Nursery

The perfect site for new divers, old divers, and snorkelers alike, with a protected shallow haven of 5-12m, this area is a very popular dive site.

★★★★☆ Flat Rock - Shark Alley

A deeper site for advanced divers, Shark Alley is a seasonal aggregation zone for endangered Grey Nurse (sand tiger) sharks. Being further out to sea, it is also a great place to see whales and other large pelagic marine life. Max depth is 28m with the reef rising to 12m on either side of the alley.

★★★★☆ Cherubs Cave

A small concrete cherub once marked the main entrance to this hidden cave off Moreton Island. While the guardian has since disappeared, this underwater world remains to be discovered by the adventurous diver.

★★★★☆ Julian Rocks - Hugos Trench

Macro heaven! With sheer walls on either side of you, expect to come across a range of small and wonderful creatures such as nudibranchs, Spanish dancers, crayfish and mantis shrimp.

★★★★☆ Julian Rocks - Split Bommie

Large scattered bombies with a unique crevice, this site is suitable for most diving levels and reaches up to 15m depth. This site provides great diving year-round with plenty of critters both large and small.

★★★★☆ Julian Rocks - Cod Hole

An amazing dive site for the experienced diver! The Cod Hole is a small underwater cave located on the northern tip and opens up at approximately 15m deep, then slopes downwards to a depth of 21m.

★★★★☆ Nine Mile Reef

The top of the reef sits at about 10 meters deep, dropping to 30 meters with the drop-off covered in numerous hard and soft corals. Reef fish are scattered across the shallower parts, with pelagic fish, sharks, turtles, stingrays, eagle rays, and the occasional manta ray circling the reef.

★★★★☆ Julian Rocks - Needles

The Needles is located on the southern end of Julian Rocks and consists of large bombies extending up to shallow depths. Currents and the shallow depths of 5-15m here mean there is plenty to see all year round.

★★★★☆ Cook Island - North Wall

“Cook Island” is known as a Marine Reserve and is home to a wide variety of marine life and breeding seabirds. Cook Island provides a great opportunity to visit a protected area and witness why so many love this special place. Max depth here is 13m.

★★★★☆ Shag Rock - Swim Through

Shag Rock is an exposed rocky reef only a short 6 to 8 minute boat ride from the beach our Dive boats are launched from. Because of this it is the most protected dive site and offers great diving when conditions elsewhere take a turn for the worse.

★★★★☆ Cementco Wreck

The Cementco was a 67 metre long hopper barge that worked in Brisbane’s Moreton Bay for many years transporting fossilised coral to be used in cement production.

★★★★☆ Flinders Reef

Moreton Bay Marine Park is home to Brisbane’s only true coral reef and fully protected marine sanctuary, Flinders Reef. Scuba dive among an amazing array of marine life and coral, perfect for any diver.

★★★★☆ HMAS Brisbane (Wreck)

The HMAS Brisbane was scuttled in July 2005 to create an artificial reef off Mooloolaba’s Sunshine Coast. The Queensland government created a Conservation Park around the wreck. This wreck is buzzing with beautiful marine life.

★★★★☆ Wonder Reef On The Gold Coast

Wonder reef is the world’s first artistically designed buoyant reef consisting of 9 beautiful individual reef spirals. Each buoyant reef is anchored to the seafloor and moves with the energy of the ocean like a giant kelp forest.

★★★★☆ Wave Break Island

Wave Break Island offers the perfect location and conditions with around 450 species of fish to encounter! Whether you are a qualified diver or it is your first time in the water, your experienced guide guarantees a professional, safe, and fun experience.
