At Alma Libre Dive Center, we don't just teach you to dive; we integrate you into our underwater family. This course is the first step to become a world-class certified diver. You will learn the basics of diving physics, equipment handling and safety skills necessary to explore up to 18 meters deep. The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you all you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a mixture of academic sessions and open water dives. You will learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most from your deep dives. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose. This SSI Specialty is also a prerequisite for some advanced training, making it the next logical step to take in your dive education.

The Divemaster program is the first step of an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your fellow divers and become a diving ambassador by taking the Divemaster program. All you need to get started are 40 verified/registered dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Sailing, Night and Limited Visibility or at least 5 verified/logged dives in each area, plus Diver Stress and Rescue. You will be certified as a Dive Guide after successfully completing the Divemaster program. When your interest is to turn your passion into a profession, guiding certified divers, teaching Ecology programs, assisting instructors or even becoming an instructor, your next step is the Divemaster Upgrade with a minimum of 60 logged/verified dives. Upgrade to Divemaster immediately or at any time by studying Science of Diving materials and passing the Digital Final Exam that makes you an SSI Professional. After becoming a Divemaster, the Assistant Instructor qualification is the next step in a dive instructor's career path. This program allows you to gain teaching experience, practice briefings and provide in-water and classroom training. If you want to advance your career as a dive professional, you can take the Instructor Training Course, pass the Instructor Evaluation and become an Open Water Diving Instructor.

Start today - You need to be a Divemaster or equivalent to join SSI's 3-Step Instructor Training Approach. The training process begins with enrollment in the combined Assistant Instructor / Instructor Training Course accompanied by digital learning. Upon successful completion of the Instructor Training Course (ITC), you will enroll in an Instructor Evaluation (IE) to qualify as an SSI Open Water Instructor. This 10-day training program qualifies you to independently teach several key SSI programs, such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue and Dive Guide. For those who want to take more time to learn and gain valuable teaching experience between training programs, the 3 parts can also be completed as individual steps: Assistant Instructor, Instructor Training Course (ITC) and Instructor Evaluation (IE), one after the other, at your own pace and flexible schedule.
