SSI CCR Extended Range Trimix — Your First Step onto the JJ-CCR

This SSI CCR Extended Range program with Will Cooper is designed as your first step into closed-circuit technical diving.You’ll learn to configure, operate and dive the JJ-CCR while transferring your existing technical diving knowledge into the closed-circuit environment. We are committed to your success, and if you need additional help to reach the required standard, we’ll be there to support you.What you’ll earnAfter successfully completing the program, you’ll receive the SSI CCR Extended Range certification.The certification qualifies you to dive with an equally or more highly qualified buddy, using specialised CCR equipment and procedures, to:45 metres with trimix diluent containing at least 20% oxygenA maximum staged-decompression obligation of 10 minutesCourse structureThe suggested total course duration is approximately 40 hours and includes:At least eight hours of academic developmentOne classroom and equipment-configuration dayConfined-water skills sessionsA swim assessment and progressive skill developmentSix open-water training divesDetailed daily debriefings and instructor feedbackA final examination requiring a minimum score of 80%at least 480 mins of CCR runtimeOnce enrolled, you’ll receive an email giving you access to the digital learning on the SSI App, allowing you to begin your academic preparation before the practical training starts.Entry requirementsYou must:Be at least 18 years oldHold Deep Diving and Enriched Air Nitrox certificationsHold an appropriate Extended Range Nitrox or CCR Diving qualification (with 30 hours) Meet all applicable experience and logged-dive requirementsIf you don’t yet hold the necessary decompression qualification, our SSI CCR Diving course may be completed as part of your training pathway. Final eligibility will be confirmed before the course begins.Equipment requirementsYou will need a complete JJ-CCR Total Diving System that is approved by SSI and holds the appropriate CE-type approval for the European market.Your equipment must also include:One bailout cylinder with a minimum internal volume of 5.7 litresA bailout regulator with an SPG and a second stage fitted with a one- to two-metre hoseOxygen-clean equipment where requiredA backup open-circuit or CCR-compatible computer for bailout following a system failureA surface marker buoyA spool or reel suitable for the planned depthA cutting deviceA surface-signalling deviceThe applicable manufacturer and/or SSI pre-dive checklistEquipment rental may be available.
