This is an ideal place for shore dives and is a confirmed diving park. Many ancient amphoras from Minoan civilization are seen here. You can hit several depths from a few meters to 40 meters deep. An ideal site for a try scuba and advanced level divers. It has a rocky bottom with Posidonia meadows and sand.

The ship wreck is lying at the depth of 12-16 m. and suitable for all levels of divers. BYRON I was a cargo ship carrying 11.000 tons of sugar. The bad weather in the area caused the wreck of the cargo ship on January of 1985, which turned the salty sea water temporarily into “sweet“ water.

The reef around the peninsula forms different levels of depth, starting at 6m and going to the deepest point (northwest side), which reaches 30m. depth.Meet a marvelous tunnel, the entrance starts at 14m. and the exit of it at 8m depth. Perfect for both beginners and certified divers.

Big Anchor is a 400 year old anchor laying at 32m depth in the reef of Mononaftis. Around the reef there are plenty of other older anchors and newer ones as well, showing us that this place used to be a very popular natural port.
★★★★★ Messerschmitt Me 109 (Wreck)
This Messerschmitt BF109 aircraft is a wreck from WWII. It is in good condition with only the tail missing from the site. The aircraft was most likely shot down during the battle of Crete in May-June 1941.

Kori is a rock that is seen out of the water, in the middle of the bay. From there starts a reef that goes max about 11 meters. Is a nice easy dive for all, recommended for the very beginners.All levels. Max Depth 11 meters. Duration 45-55 min. Access boat or long swim.

At the end of the bay of Hersonissos there is a wall type reef we call St. George, named after the church near by. The dive site is about 300 meters long and we split it in 2 parts. Shallow and Deeper. Shallow part starts from 6 meters depth and goes down to 12-13 meters. Deeper part is from 12 to 19 meters.

You can find pieces of various amphorae here. Amphora is an ancient container with a certain characteristic shape and size, from as least as early the Neolithic Period. Amphorae were used in vast numbers for the transport and storage of various products, both liquid and dry, but mostly for wine.

A small rocky island just a few meters from the shore, which can be reached from the shore or by boat. There you will find amphorae, vases and remains of an ancient shipwreck. Rock length: 300 meters. depths from 0 to 60 meters. Interesting location with many pieces of ancient.

A beautiful Mediterranean reef with lot’s of small marine life, schools of small fish, octopus, nudibranchs, moray eels and occasionally some sea turtles.

Kalypso Beach is a unique bay with clear crystal water. Perfect for snorkeling, catching sun or DIVING. Our asset is the very diversified landscapes on such a small area, normally excellent visibility (though it’s seams to be changing the latest years). Named after the seaweed Posidonia, you can find a lot of it around this dive site. There are rock formations that indicates some ancient human activity. An easy dive for all levels.
