Ipswich Scuba and our team are dedicated to make your diving journey as personal and as successful as we can for you. Based in Ipswich, Suffolk. we are a family friendly establishment with many years of experience between the team. We first opened our doors as Galaxsea Divers in December 2002, and in 2013, we were able to move to a larger premises from Felixstowe Road to Hines Road. In April 2021, we re-branded and became Ipswich Scuba when shops could reopen again after Covid-19. Our aim is to provide you with ample opportunity to dive and to help you make the most of every dive occasion, course and holiday. Our objective with our shop, centre, holidays and training are to enable beginner and experienced divers to enjoy diving to the maximum and to learn to dive in a safe and positive environment, whilst writing their own scuba diving story. Each dive journey is a personal one, we just hope to help you make the most of it. By visiting our centre on Hines Road you will be met by helpful, friendly staff and you will find a real treasure trove with our well-stocked showroom, fully equipped service centre and well-resourced classroom. If you are lucky there may be cake and a coffee too.

Stoney Cove quarry was originally a granite mine. In 1958 when quarrying at the site ceased, the quarry filled with spring water. Today, the site consists of 3 main levels: a 6m shelf area, ideal for beginner training, a 36m sump for more advanced training and the main body consisting of 2 large 22m deep areas.

Capernwray is the North-West’s inland dive site frequented by many divers and schools. Tends to open at weekends and from thursdays in the winter and on wednesdays through to evening in the summer.

With a maximum depth of 22m, easy entry and exist points, training platforms at all convenient depths. Gildenburgh Water is a great dive site for any diver, but particularly for novices and divers needing a convenient refresher dive.

Wraysbury is a great dive site for any diver, but particularly novices and divers needing a convenient refresher dive. With a maximum depth of 14m Wraysbury has a huge number of various sized wrecks, including the fuselage of a 737 plane, a bus, thorpe park rangers, boats, cars, and even a VW camper van.

The Farne Islands are famous for a colony of 4.5 thousand grey seals and teeming with life on the many varied dive sites. Most of the sites are around the outer Farnes with wrecks and reefs to explore.

The swimming pool at Ipswich High School measures 13m by 25m with a maximum depth of 1.8m, it provides plenty of space for diver training and swimming.
