Scubapro, Stephen Frink SS Yongala Wreck (★4.6) SS Yongala Wreck - The boat is now an artificial reef with amazing marine life that are supersized compared to seeing them on the Great Barrier Reef. You cannot penetrate or touch the wreck as it is a grave site but this doesn’t take away from this amazing dive. Can have very strong currents. SSI AUSTRALIA, 4207 YATALA Milln Reef - The Whale (★4.3) The premier dive and snorkel destination out of Cairns. Milne Reef has exceptional visibility and will impress even the most experienced diver. Gorgeous shallow coral gardens, swim-throughs, and a guarantee turtle encounters await you. SCUBA WORLD, 4557 Mooloolaba HMAS Brisbane (Wreck) (★4.1) The HMAS Brisbane was scuttled in July 2005 to create an artificial reef off Mooloolaba’s Sunshine Coast. The Queensland government created a Conservation Park around the wreck. This wreck is buzzing with beautiful marine life. Mares Flynn Reef - 2 Gordon's (★4.4) Location: Flynn Reef Maximum Depth: 22m Visibility: 15m. Site: Gordon’s Mooring has some great swim-throughs and overhangs amongst the variety of smaller bommies. Features a wide range of corals such as brain and plate and diverse marine life including large established giant clam gardens Scubapro, Stephen Frink Flynn Reef - Coral Gardens (★4.5) Positioned 20 kilometres east of Green Island off the Cairns coast, Flynn Reef is home to several dive sites - with the Coral Gardens being just one of them.Located on the outer reef this site has consistently good visibility of close to 30 metres. ADRENO BRISBANE, 4102 WOOLLOONGABBA Tangalooma Wrecks (★4.1) The Tangalooma Wrecks are located just off the beach at Moreton Island, about a 75-minute ferry ride from Brisbane. They consist of 15 purpose-sunk ships that were deliberately scuttled between 1963 and 1984 to create a safe harbour for small boats — and they’ve since transformed into an fantastic artificial reef PLEASURE DIVERS MAGNETIC ISLAND, 4819 ARCADIA Alma Bay (★3.7) Alma Bay has a shallow fringing reef on both the left and right sides. Gentle sloping, sandy bottom with very little water movement. The maximum depth is 9m with an average depth around 5m. Mares, Janez Kranjc Manta Bommie (★4.3) Located a short boat ride from Point Lookout, Manta Bommie is one of the top 10 dive sites in Australia. At a maximum depth of 15m, Manta Bommie is suitable for divers and snorkelers of all levels. With large rock/reef formations surrounded by sand patches, the site is home to a wide variety of unique marine life. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Hugos Trench (★4.2) Macro heaven! With sheer walls on either side of you, expect to come across a range of small and wonderful creatures such as nudibranchs, Spanish dancers, crayfish and mantis shrimp. SSI AUSTRALIA, 4207 YATALA Flynn Reef - Little Tracy's (★4.4) Flynn Reef is one of Cairns’s outermost reefs. Expect excellent visibility. Flynn Reef provides some excellent wall dives, sloping coral gardens, and sandy lagoon holes where you can find coral bommies. Litte Tray’s is one of the many amazing dives on Flynn Reef. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Cod Hole (★4.2) An amazing dive site for the experienced diver! The Cod Hole is a small underwater cave located on the northern tip and opens up at approximately 15m deep, then slopes downwards to a depth of 21m. SOUTH WEST ROCKS DIVE CENTRE, 2431 SOUTH WEST ROCKS Fish Rock Cave (★4.4) Fish Rock Cave is the only true ocean cave dive in Australia, running 125 meters right through Fish Rock. Fish Rock is in the path of the EAC (East Australian Current) which usually floods the site with warm clear water, bringing a huge variety of temperate and tropical marine species. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Needles (★4.3) The Needles is located on the southern end of Julian Rocks and consists of large bombies extending up to shallow depths. Currents and the shallow depths of 5-15m here mean there is plenty to see all year round. ADRENO GOLD COAST, 4215 SOUTHPORT Flinders Reef (★4.3) Moreton Bay Marine Park is home to Brisbane’s only true coral reef and fully protected marine sanctuary, Flinders Reef. Scuba dive among an amazing array of marine life and coral, perfect for any diver. REEF ENCOUNTER, 4870 CAIRNS Twin Peaks, Saxon Reef (★4.5) Two large coral peaks with lots of shallow reef around to the southeast. Approximately 60 meters in total diameter, with a small ridge connecting the two peaks. Keith D. REEF ENCOUNTER, 4870 CAIRNS Fingers, Norman Reef (★4.5) Perfect for beginners and advanced divers, Fingers is a shallow cove making it well protected from the elements. The reason the site is named fingers is from a Birdseye view it looks like the fingers of a hand, the fingers themselves sit to the South-West of the site and can get quite deep. Mares Flat Rock - Nursery (★4.3) Flat rock is located approximately 2.5 nautical miles north of point lookout. The Nursery is an amazing dive site located on the southwestern corner of the reef at Flat Rock. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Julian Rocks - Nursery (★4.3) The perfect site for new divers, old divers, and snorkelers alike, with a protected shallow haven of 5-12m, this area is a very popular dive site. BYRON BAY DIVE CENTRE, 2481 BYRON BAY Main Beach Wreck - Tassie III (★3.5) A shallow easy dive featuring a wreck (Tassie III), some pillars from an old jetty and a large seaweed garden, this dive is perfect for anyone starting out in their diving adventures while still offering plenty a marine encounters that will keep even the most veteran divers entertained. Mares South Point (★4.7) 10-15m dive over broken ground. Boat entry. Usually protected in most conditions. This site is a nursery for juvenile fish. Thousands of Old Wife, Bight Redfish, Moonlighter and Breaksea. SSI AUSTRALIA, 4207 YATALA Norman Reef - Playgrounds (★4.4) On the southern part of Norman Reef, we have Playgrounds and Shark Mountain. Playgrounds for more beginner divers and Shark Mountain for a bit more advanced divers. Beautiful coral reef and bommies to explore. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Evolution, Saxon Reef (★4.5) This site is made up of a collection of coral bommies, where you can find many different features. It is a good dive for all the levels, being around the shallows will surprise you with the incredible marine life that you can find. LADY MUSGRAVE EXPERIENCE, 4670 Burnett Heads Lady Musgrave Aquarium (★4.3) Accessible via the channel from Lady Musgrave Lagoon, maximum depth of 8m where anemones, hard corals and clams are found. Reef sharks and green sea turtles regularly spotted. Mares Lighthouse Bommie - Lady Elliot Island (★4.5) Explore the enchanting Light House Bommie dive site at Lady Elliot Island! Immerse in a kaleidoscope of marine life amid spectacular corals. Glide alongside graceful sea turtles, encounter majestic manta rays, and witness schools of dazzling fish. An underwater paradise teeming with biodiversity awaits! Mares Table Top (★4.4) Table Top is a huge, beautiful bommie situated on Norman Reef. This bommie is famous for its beautiful plate corals on the top and diversity of marine life. It is a deep dive normally with a current. On the top of the bommie the maximum depth is around 5 m. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Mudjimba Island Reef SW (★3.6) The reef to the SW of Mudjimba Island offers a shallow wall that drops off (to approx 8 to 15 metres) from the reef top (depth of approx 3 to 6 metres). “Mudjimba“ is the islands aboriginal name (and translates to “Old Woman“), with origin from an indigenous dream time story.
