Mares, Janez Kranjc Kandholhudhoo Thila (★4.5) A small thila on the northwest of Kandolhu resort which is suitable for all level of divers. It offers plenty of marine life and with some luck even eagle rays or mobulas can be spotted. The top reef starts as shallow as 5 meters and it falls to a sandy bottom of 25 - 30 meters. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Bodu Hithi / Kuda Thila (★4.3) This site is known well for its manta cleaning station and feeding ground. Here, between December and April, manta rays come for cleaning or plankton feeding. This spot is great for diving and snorkeling. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Picasso (★4.3) An easy dive site, this Giri west of Medhufushi is free of currents. It´s known for the unbelievable beauty of the coral garden at 15 - 25 m, displaying soft, leather, and fan corals, as well as a big selection of sponges. Mares Himandhoo Thila (★4.4) Himandhoo Thila is located in the channel between the islands of Himandhoo and Moofushi. There is some interesting topography here with nice canyons and overhangs. Although this site is possible for all levels, beware of the current as it can get very strong. Marius D. (#1574909) Fish Head (★4.6) Fish Head Thila was formerly known for its enormous population of grey reef sharks. Now it depends on luck, season and the current to see them. The reef plate starts at about 10 meters depth and there can be currents. Fast descent required. Peter S. (#417559) Kuda Rah Thila (★4.6) A stunning underwater pinnacle just minutes away from the island of Kuda Rah. This dive site has been declared a protected marine area. The dive site is better for Advanced certified divers and those who are experienced with a bit of current. Nitrox is recommended. Mares, Janez Kranjc Five Rocks (★4.4) This dive site is quite unique in the fact that the pinnacle has split into five pieces over thousands of years of erosion. The pieces of pinnacle lay at depths of between 12m and 40m. Gregor K. (#2893197) Moofushi Kandu (★4.5) Moofushi Kandu is one of the prime channels in the Maldives to observe Grey Reef Sharks, Mantas, Eagle Rays and other big fellows. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Reef Explorer (wreck) (★4.6) The Reef Explorer is a 30m fishing boat resting at 12-16m, just a 5-min boat ride from Rasdhoo. Its shallow depth makes it perfect for all divers, including beginners and night dive enthusiasts. Be mindful of potential currents and maintain good buoyancy control near the sandy bottom. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Rannalhi House Reef (★4.3) This is a very good dive site for all kinds of divers, starting with a gentle slope in the sandy bottom and then moving on to the reef which is quite widespread, with a maximum depth of 17 meters.
