The reef falls from 5 to 25m and we have to look in the small overhangs.In the right month (May to Aug) often mantas passing in the blue. A spot also good for a night dive and a good chance to get surprised. Aqualung Hanifaru Thila (★4.2) Hanifaru Thila is a long reef formation starting at 10 meters and descending to 30 meters. Stretching around 180 meters, it features two distinct pinnacles on the west and east sides, with overhangs and varied contours shaped by ocean currents. Mares, Janez Kranjc Medu Thila (★4.3) A medium sized thila as its name says (medu = medium) on the east edge of the atoll. It presents some big overhangs where we can spend lots of time from our dive. On the east side there is an extra thila connected by a saddle from the main thila. They offer great marine life with all the common reef fish. Aqualung Hakura Giri (★4.3) This Giri lies very protected in the inner atoll, north of Hakura Island, and therefore is usually free of currents. On the northwest side, the drop-off falls to 30 m. Mares Fulidhoo Caves (★4.6) The back reef of Fulidhoo extends over roughly 4km from west to east. The central part features a sloping reef with magnificent table corals on the top and wide overhangs from a depth of 15m to beyond 30m. The area between the caves and top reef is full of marine life. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Lara Giri (★4.4) This dive site is located on east side of dive point rannalhi, boat navigation time is 40min. Its a very small round giri, you can swim around in one hour. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Rannalhi Jetty (★4.4) Rannalhi Jetty lies on the Northern Tip of Rannalhi Island - easiest entry point would be from the beach itself. The underwater topography offers a maximum depth of 25 meters, the reef structure creates various reef potholes with a sandy bottom, surrounded by coral blocks and several smaller Giris to dive around. Scubapro Makunudu Plateau (★4.6) Makundu Plateau is located at the south-eastern tip of the long reef near Makunudu Island. The Plateau itself is a shallow coral garden, 5-12 meters, with amazing coral hills and towers. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Amingiri Sandbank Reef (★4.8) What seems to be a rather “unspectacular” sandbank reveals itself as a very pretty dive site. Having said that, sandbanks are never really unspectacular in the Maldives but you wouldn’t expect a very pretty wall ranging from 3 to 30 meters when looking at the pristine white sand on top of the reef. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Anemone Thila (★4.9) The dive site is of round shape and can be defined as a classical Maldivian thila – a submerged pinnacle. The top reef is located at 4 meters which makes it easy to descent to for all experience levels. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Mas Giri (★4.8) Located a 10-minute boat ride north-east of Hilton Maldives Amingiri, Mas Giri is one of our must-see dive sites if you like beautiful marine life. Pretty much all tropical reef fish that are home in the Maldives can be found on Mas Giri. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Hulangu Kandu (★4.9) Hulangu Kandu is located in the channel just North of Hilton Maldives Amingiri. The dive site itself sits at the corner of the outer reef. It is an interesting diving spot with changing reef structures and anything Maldives has to offer. Dive into one of Maldives TOP 10 Dive Sites to meet Grey Reef Sharks and more Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Neygey Thila (★4.7) Located just north of Amingiri. This dive site lies in the protection of a faru in between two channels. This makes the dive sites less exposed to strong currents and therewith suitable for all experience levels. The reef structure is a thila from 4 to 30 meters. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Baros Thila (★4.8) Located south of the resort island Baros. Baros Thila has a top reef at around 8 meters. The reef top is dominated by rock formations. From there it gradually slopes down to 25 to 28m. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Black Coral (★4.7) Black Coral consists of a long wall along a large circular shaped reef. The top starts at 4 meters and then descends to about 25m where you will find a sandy bottom. Due to its size, this reef has many different areas to explore. On the wall you will find lots of overhangs and even a small swim through. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Shark Point (★4.6) Shark Point is located 45 minutes north west of Hilton Maldives Amingiri. The dive site promises a pleasant drift dive in depths from 10 to 30 meters along a pretty faru (long reef) close to Rasfari Corner. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Bodu Hithi Manta Point (★4.5) Bodu Hithi Manta Point is probably one of the best manta cleaning stations in North Male atoll. It requires a 60-minute (dive) boat ride to the north in order to reach the gentle giants. The station is active, alive and kicking during the northeast monsoon (December to April). Mares, Janez Kranjc Coral Garden (★4.5) A small Giri with an abundance of corals, reef life and names, eg. Floral Garden, Teabag-Giri or Aquarium. The top of the reef starts at 1m at low tide and extends down to 20m+ on certain parts of the seamount. Most of the days you will be able to go around the whole circular reef as the currents are small. Mares Kunaavashi Kandu (★4.3) The third channel to the west of Fulidhoo offers a great dive to see big fish during incoming currents at both channel entrances. The south side has larger overhangs and cavities starting at 10m down to 30m+ moving further into the channel. Along the reef edge you will mostly find grey reef- and white-tip sharks. Aqualung Farukolhu Kandu (★4.6) Farukolhu Kandu (Fulidhoo Channel), a short boat ride from Fulidhoo, is a drift dive for all levels of divers. The reef is situated on a shallow channel, between 8 to 30 m. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Baros Faru (★4.8) Baros Faru is a beautiful reef with healthy hardcoral life, located on the southern end of Baros’ lagoon. The landscape is very distinctive as the bottom of the reef merges with and endless coral garden at around 25 meters of depth. Mares, Janez Kranjc Neru Faru - Hilton Maldives Amingiri Housereef (★4.6) A beautiful hard coral reef right in front of Hilton Maldives Amingri welcomes divers of all levels at depth from 2 to 25 meters. Located in a channel the dive changes its character depending on the prevailing current direction and strength... Dive Mission Joy, 08080 K. kasanfaru Lagoon Asdhoo Wreck (★4.5) Asdhoo Wreck is a small steel vessel located on a Giri South of Asdhoo Island. Reachable with a 30 minutes boat ride, The Wreck lies in the Sand with a maximum depth of 22 meters. The upper part of the wreck is going up to 10 meters. The reef behind the Wreck turns into a wall in direction north. Mares Baracuda Point (★4.6) Barracuda Point is a beautiful and exciting drift along the reef that lays in the channel to the north from Akirifushi Island. The dive combines outer reef and channel. Mares Hohola Thila (★4.4) Hohola Thila is a small Thila with an amazing rich underwater life. This small and extremely colorful spot can be surrounded in one dive. Suitable for divers of all level - from beginners to advanced. The top reef lies by around 6 meters, and it falls to 30+ meters to a sandy bottom. Tim A. (#4772619) Madi Miyaru Kanmathi (★4.6) 5 min from Hulhumale Jetty, an extensive reef. It’s a steep slope starting at 3-5m down to 25m, and then where it has a sandy bottom at 30m+. the further you got away from the the reef the deeper it gets. This dive site normally doesn’t have current. Please use an SMB when ascending as there is alot of boat traffic. Mares Rasdhoo Ferry Terminal (★4.6) This dive site is located at the harbour of Rasdhoo and suitable for confined water training. There are stairs leading into the water from the pier. Please always use a surface marker buoy. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Aquarium (★4.6) Protected bay area with beautiful reef structures and coral structures for every level. From beginners to advanced divers, perfect for an easy enjoyable dive and an abundance of reef fishes. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Amin Faru (★4.9) Amin Faru is the barrier reef of Amingiri facing the open ocean which is often simply referred to as outside reef. It’s starts from around 5 meters and drops down several 100 meters in several stages... Aqualung Madivaru Beyru (★4.6) Next to the famous Madivaru Corner you can enjoy this 40m deep vertical wall full of coral and life. Good for any diver level. Strong current, can be found in this dive spot Dive Mission Joy, K. Guraidhoo Coral Garden (★4.9) Fifteen minutes by boat from the Joy Island. Beautiful coral reef start from 4m on the top reef. full of table corals reef. the side of the coral garden is like a wall with beautiful caves. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Paradise Lagoon (★4.6) Paradise Lagoon is located in North East of thulusdhoo island. Paradise lagoon is a perfect for educational training dives. Depth starts from 1 meter and with a gradual sandy slope it goes to depth of 10 meter with sandy bottom. Students divers can perform skills without damaging any corals and aquatic life. Mares Miyaren Haa (★4.6) Beautiful small pinnacle located north west of thulusdhoo. Top of the reef starts at 7m and goes to a steep slope. At 30m there is a separate coral block rich in corals and abundant fish life. Dive Mission Joy, 08080 K. kasanfaru Lagoon Lankan Manta Point (★4.6) To reach in 90 Minutes with the Doni in direction Male. The cleaning stations are located at the out reef and can have a moderate to strong current. Between May to November Mantas can be spotted at the cleaning stations Mares Oceanics Sharks Secret point (★4.6) This dive involves feeding at a depth of approximately 24 meters to attract pelagic sharks (tiger sharks, hammerhead sharks, bull sharks, spinner sharks, guitarfish, rays, etc.). The dive follows the artificial breakwater wall in the Hulumale lagoon, with divers sitting in a semicircle. Discovered in October 2020. Mares Kuda Huraa House Reef (★4.6) Located on the Western side of Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. The site is a great place for Basic Diver Course and Open Water Diver Course Dives. With No Current to Small and 2 meter Shallow Sand patch with Mooring Line makes it easily accessible for beginners and novice divers. ←123
