The best Months to dive in Cyclades

The Cyclades, located in the Aegean Sea, offer excellent diving conditions throughout the year. In the summer months, water temperatures range from 22°C–25°C/72°F–77°F, providing warm and comfortable diving experiences. During winter, temperatures drop to around 15°C/59°F, which can be brisk but still diveable for those with appropriate gear. Visibility remains impressive, typically ranging between 20 to 30 meters/66 to 98 feet, offering clear views of the vibrant marine life and underwater landscapes.

While diving is possible year-round, the Meltemi winds, prevalent in July and August, can affect sea conditions, making some dive sites challenging to access. Autumn and spring are generally considered the best times to dive, with calmer seas and fewer crowds. Overall, the Cyclades present diverse diving opportunities, but divers should plan for potential weather disruptions during the peak summer months.
