From 2000 to 2009 this dive site was ranked world 10th place of shark diving. The top of the reef is full of hard corals. The sides of the “Thila” are covered with soft corals. The currents are strong here and highly recommend for Advanced and Nitrox divers. Mares Rasdhoo North Channel (★4.5) North Channel on the north/north-east side of Rasdhoo Atoll. The channel is relatively shallow and with average depth of 20 m is suitable for competent open water divers. The current can get quite strong here, so choosing the right time to visit is important. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Okobe Thila (★4.3) This amazing reef are 3 blocks. The biggest begins in the south between 80-100m long and it's full of corals, it would be nice we can start here. In the east we have another wonderful block a bit similar to east block Maya Thila covert full with corals. In the north is the smallest block. AOW or higher DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Ram Faru (★4.3) Outside reef with an interesting “entrance“ into the channel. Big blocks at 20 meters as well as hard corals. Great variety of marine life. Torch highly recommended. Mares, Janez Kranjc Kanifinolhu Beyru (★4.3) On the eastern side of Kani Finolhu. A long reef were the top reef starts from 5 meters. with a sand patch from 15 meters. big rock in different depth and locations of the site. Mares Mantas and More (★4.5) This is a top dive site in this area, located to the east of Mulee Island. During the season from December to May, it is possible to spot manta rays with their offspring, busying themselves around the numerous cleaning stations at 10 - 15 meters. The gentle slope from 15 - 30 meters is adorned with coral formations. Aqualung Maaya Thila, North Ari Atoll (★4.5) Once this dive site was on the top 10 best in the world. Due to this rating many divers dived this site and specially at night. The damage on the top of this Thila (diver error) is bad, but as from 12m acceptable. At night many giant trevally and some white tips hunting. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Bandos Rock (★4.4) Bandos Rock is located on the house reef of Bandos Island Resort. The top reef starts at 3 to 5 meters and drops (rather steeply) to a sandy bottom at 30+ meters. You will find several caves and interesting overhangs on the wall. Enjoy the large table corals, the pinnacle and a canyon. Jakub S. (#2992458) Thulhagiri Housereef (★4.2) The main housereef of Thulhagiri resort. It spans across the northwest-north part of the island. Entry points are marked with red buoys. The western buoy has a line attached to get to 6m deep plateu. perfect for training dives. Afterwards the dive is mostly wall with multiple overhangs going down to about 20m. Aqualung Muthafushi Thila (★4.3) Muthafushi Thila is a small pinnacle dive site. This site is great for avid photographers and those who enjoy diving slow and looking around to discover all the life this reef has to offer. Aqualung Filitheyo Thila (★4.2) since 2025-09-28, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, under construction, Maldives Passions, 08090 Maafushi Kuda Giri Wreck (★4.4) The Kuda Giri is a very pretty, very well-established giri (pinnacle) with lots of small caves and overhangs, this giri is also covered with beautiful hard corals on the east side. Mares, Janez Kranjc Guhli Beyru (★4.3) Gulhi Beyru is the outer reef of Gulhi, starting at a wall drop where we can often spot sharks, then crossing a small channel over sand where stingrays are common. The dive leads to a reef with a top of hard corals, sloping down with soft corals, caves, fan corals, and diverse marine life. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Bodu Hithi / Kuda Thila (★4.4) This site is known well for its manta cleaning station and feeding ground. Here, between December and April, manta rays come for cleaning or plankton feeding. This spot is great for diving and snorkeling. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Picasso (★4.3) An easy dive site, this Giri west of Medhufushi is free of currents. It´s known for the unbelievable beauty of the coral garden at 15 - 25 m, displaying soft, leather, and fan corals, as well as a big selection of sponges. Mares Himandhoo Thila (★4.4) Himandhoo Thila is located in the channel between the islands of Himandhoo and Moofushi. There is some interesting topography here with nice canyons and overhangs. Although this site is possible for all levels, beware of the current as it can get very strong. Marius D. (#1574909) Fish Head (★4.6) Fish Head Thila was formerly known for its enormous population of grey reef sharks. Now it depends on luck, season and the current to see them. The reef plate starts at about 10 meters depth and there can be currents. Fast descent required. Peter S. (#417559) Kuda Rah Thila (★4.6) A stunning underwater pinnacle just minutes away from the island of Kuda Rah. This dive site has been declared a protected marine area. The dive site is better for Advanced certified divers and those who are experienced with a bit of current. Nitrox is recommended. Mares, Janez Kranjc Five Rocks (★4.4) This dive site is quite unique in the fact that the pinnacle has split into five pieces over thousands of years of erosion. The pieces of pinnacle lay at depths of between 12m and 40m. Gregor K. (#2893197) Moofushi Kandu (★4.5) Moofushi Kandu is one of the prime channels in the Maldives to observe Grey Reef Sharks, Mantas, Eagle Rays and other big fellows. The channel entrance has a depth of 40 to 50 Meters. Crossings are only available at moderate currents Peter S. (#417559) Maamigili Beyru (★4.2) Dive site right on the corner of Maamigili Island at the southern end of the Ari Atoll, which also has an airport. Outer reef slowly sloping down to approx. 10 m, then more or less steep wall up to over 40 meters with smaller overhangs and crevices. Depending on the current, right or left shoulder along the reef. Mares Velassaru Cave (★4.2) Velassaru Caves is a beautiful spot on the outside reef of south Male Atoll’s northern tip. The name is given by the dive site location in combination with several overhangs spreading from depth levels between 10 to 30 meters. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Bathalaa Thila (★4.4) Bathala Thila is a submerged pinnacle east of the resort island Bathala Island. The reef top is about 40 m long and begins at a depth of about 6–10 m. It is covered with anemones and soft and hard corals. Overhangs from 10 to 20 m deep surround the reef. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Reef Explorer (wreck) (★4.6) The Reef Explorer is a 30m fishing boat resting at 12-16m, just a 5-min boat ride from Rasdhoo. Its shallow depth makes it perfect for all divers, including beginners and night dive enthusiasts. Be mindful of potential currents and maintain good buoyancy control near the sandy bottom. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Rannalhi House Reef (★4.3) This is a very good dive site for all kinds of divers, starting with a gentle slope in the sandy bottom and then moving on to the reef which is quite widespread, with a maximum depth of 17 meters. Since its also a nursery for juveniles, some trevallys coming in to feed. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Maldives Victory (Wreck) (★4.5) The Maldives Victory is a cargo ship that sank in 1981 just off of the island of Male City and the airport island. This 80m long cargo ship sunk while on its way from Singapore carrying goods for the resort islands. Marek T. (#3048856) Miyaru Kandu (★4.4) This channel site is in the northeast of Vaavu atoll. This site is more suited to advanced divers as you can encounter strong currents. When there is less current, the dive site can also be for less experienced divers. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Olhuveli House Reef (★4.3) The dive school located at the end of the main jetty offers access to the house reef, giving you easy excess to the seamless drop-off for diving and snorkeling. One of the best house reef resorts in the Maldives. Night feeding manta rays are here almost every night. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Safari Island House Reef (★4.5) The house reef is a popular spot for snorkelers and divers and is home to a diverse marine life. The reef top starts between 2 to 3m and gently slopes down to a depth of 30 m SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Emboodhoo Canyon (★4.4) One of the most popular dive sites in South Male Atoll due to healthy corals and amazing fish life. There are olorful hard corals, soft corals, and fans on a series of large overhangs. Do not miss the narrow passageway between the broken block and the main reef known as Called Canyon. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Kani Corner (★4.3) Kani Corner is basically a slope that goes to 25 - 30 m in a sandy bottom. There are some big blocks this deep and at the right time, mantas visit the blocks or pass by the top of the reef. The current can be strong so take caution. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male HP Reef / Rainbow Reef (★4.6) One of the most colorful dive sites in North Male Atoll. On the south side of Girifushi island with abundant fish life and very nice soft corals, there are numerous blue soft corals and a swim through. The current can be strong! DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Back Kani (★4.6) Easy but always nice dive. The top of the reef drops down from 7m to 30/35m and then runs into the sand. Depending on the current, you simply dive the right or left shoulder. With a little luck, this dive site offers everything that makes diving exciting! Aqualung Ellaidhoo Thila (★4.3) Ellaidhoo Thila is a submerged pinnacle north of the resort island Ellaidhoo, close to Ellaidhoo Channel. The top reef is about 8 meters deep and falls down to 30+ meters sandy bottom. Sometimes the current can make this dive difficult - just always remember to make a quick descent. Mares Halaveli Wreck (★4.5) A cargo vessel which was sunk close to the resort Halaveli. It sits upright only 20 meters away from the reef - the deck at 21 meters, the bottom is on sand at 28 meters. Due to its depth deeep dive training or Advanced Diving certification as well as Nitrox are highly recommended. Andrea S. (#1912085) Lily manta point (★4.3) There is a coral block in 19 Meters of depth, still beautiful and untouched, with all kind of corals. and surrounded by sand. There are a lot of cleaner wrasses around, so the reef mantas come in to get cleaned. Divers can sit on the sand and watch the mantas coming in and out, without harming corals. Mares, Janez Kranjc Vilamendhoo Thila (★4.2) Just off the end of the main island reef, this thila sits on the edge of the atoll just in the channel. As such, it gets good pelagics when the current runs like whitetip reef sharks, and occasional manta and hammerheads. Come up on the deep side to check out the frequent eagle rays found cruising this dive site. Aqualung Summer Island House Reef (Blue Lagoon) (★4.5) From 4 down to 25 meters along the sloping sandy bottom just in front of the Summer Island jetty we have built and amazing coral nursery. Here the corals are grown on the ropes and replanted on the stable concrete and steel formations. Rasdhoo Divers, Rasdhoo Atoll Rasdhoo Beyru (★4.5) Rasdhoo Beyru is an interesting site with the wall of the island of Rasdhoo on one side and massive coral blocks (or thilas) mounted on the outside steep drop-off of the atoll. These two features create a corridor of sand between the inner reef and outer thilas. In some places, the corridor is only 20 meters wide. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Medhu Ingili (★4.3) Locally, Mendhu Ingili means “middle finger.“ This dive site is a hidden treasure with a beautiful reef away from the busy and famous Guraidhoo corner. Diversity is rich here due to the flow of nutritious ocean currents. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Vaggiri (★4.3) Vaggiri is a great dive site for every diver, especially those who love to see small life and have longer dives. There are overhangs, small caves and swim throughs. The formation of this giri is very unique and a perfect place to try out deep dives for the first time. Maldives Passions, 08090 Maafushi Lhosfushi Corner (★4.5) Lhosfushi corner can be dived with strong or medium flowing inward or outward of the atoll, or with no current at all. It’s therefore a suitable dive site for all level, with both good hard & soft corals, and a very dense fish life. Aqualung Embudu House Reef (★4.2) This is a great site for beginning divers and advanced alike. This house reef is easily accessible from shore and filled with marine life. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Tri Mix (★4.5) The top reef starts at 3m to 6m and fall as a wall down to 25/30m On this protected wall you will find a lot of small stuff but also bigger ones. The big ones are on the ground, in the small overhangs or in the mini cavern. nice and easy for all level SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Kandooma Caves (★4.4) Nice channel dive with many overhangs in around 20 meters depth. One of the overhangs at 20 meters has an opening at the ceiling with a window at 10 meters. Torch highly recommended. Many turtles seen here! Mares Kandolhu House Reef (★4.8) The reef of Kandolhu Maldives starts as shallow as 5 meters and slopes down to a 30+ meters sandy bottom. Mostly slopes at some places you have walls with a few nice overhangs, home to glass fishes and sometimes lucky enough to spot a resting turtle or a nurse shark. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Embudu Express (★4.2) Embudu Express is famous for its current which can be up to 5-6 knots at times. Divers first go down straight to the edge in the middle of the channel and wait at 25-30m. The sharks and eagle rays come closer and closer. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Guraidhoo Corner (★4.4) One of the interesting attractions during the east monsoon, this site offers a wide variety of big fish life. The entire channel is a marine protected area. Depending on the strength of the current, be well prepared for several downstream currents and some washing machines when drifting to the inside channel. Mares Orimas Thila (★4.5) Small thila situated on the eastern side of the atoll. A top reef between 6 and 15 meters falling down to a sandy bottom at 30 meters. The north side presents numerous overhangs - some bigger, some only small fissures. Vibrant marine life on the reef itself and out in the blue. 12...7→
