Diving in Rome

The dive sites reached from Rome are characterised by intriguing rock formations and deep wrecks, with some that are only in reach of technical divers such as the ‘Nasim Wreck’ which lies just beyond 60 metres. While the vessel was sinking, some of the cars the automobile merchant ship were holding were thrown from the ship and can also be explored 33-60 metres deep. There are biological protection zones close to Rome such as the ‘Banco di Santa Croce’, with sloping walls adorned with gorgonians and sea whips.
