Abaandance Faru is a beginner-friendly wall dive with a shallow reef top at 2–3m and small overhangs between 15–20m. Named after Maldivian marine biologist Mohamed Abaan, who fell in love with the site’s remarkable biodiversity, the steep reef is covered in colourful hard, soft and black corals.
The overhangs shelter sweetlips and elusive ghost pipefish, while tunas, snappers, eagle rays and stingrays are regularly seen cruising along the wall.
