D/S Romanby
The British steamship Romanby was anchored in Narvik harbour when she was hit by a torpedo from a British destroyer during the second naval battle between the German destroyers and the Allied forces on 10 April 1940 and sank.
The wreck rests on the keel at a depth of 14 to 28 metres. The extensive damage Romanby sustained from the torpedo when she was sunk is easy to see on the port side of the ship.
