The Erlaufsee is a mountain lake at the foot of the Gemeindealpe not far from the village of Mitterbach am Erlaufsee. The border between Lower Austria and Styria runs through the lake. The ARGE DiveCard is mandatory.

Numerous species of fish can be found here, such as aitel, perch, pike, bullhead, pollack, reinanke, roach, rudd, tench, lake trout, and char.

Train as an instructor and register for the SSI Altitude Diving Instructor Seminar - alternatively you can co-teach with an experienced specialty instructor to achieve the qualification. Stausee Soboth (★4.1)

This reservoir floods a former mine. Therefore, the shoreline consists of steeply sloping stone walls. The lake is very dark, but its golden yellow water is impressive, especially in the sunshine. The rocks glitter underwater (cat silver). A very nice dive site, but for more experienced divers.

Schwarzlsee (★3.5)

You can get in at the diving base at the Schwarzlsee either via the beach or from a jetty. In the lake, which can be up to 12m deep, you can encounter small fish as well as perch, pike, zander, catfish, black amur and carp.

The attraction of this dive site are certainly the countless fish that approach the diver extremely trusting and curious. Treasure divers are also catered for here. All kinds of objects such as statues, treasure chests or cannons are scattered around the lake.

Entry by the stairs at the jetty. On the right side there are several platforms and after a few minutes there is a rock wall that reaches to about 25m depth. On the left side is the pike meadow, to about 7m, it is nicely overgrown with underwater plants.
