Tauchsport Steininger has been running the shop and diving school at the location Wiener Neustadt since 1990 and tries to bring interested people closer to diving. From equipment rental, sales and repair service to various diving courses, we offer an extensive program for beginners and advanced students. In our shop you can find equipment from many well-known manufacturers. We ‘ll be pleased to take the time to provide you with expert advice.
We offer try scuba diving both in the pool and in the open water as well as all diving courses from beginner to advanced. You can find out more about this on our website https://www.tauchsport-steininger.at In our courses we work in small groups with a maximum of 4 students. Individual lessons are also possible. We take our time and respond individually to our students. The training usually takes place in the indoor swimming pool in Wiener Neustadt and at Lake Neufeld - if you wish, we can carry out the pool lessons in your own pool (if suitable). We also work with some communities through “holiday games” to bring the joy of diving to the youngest among us.
We work together with different travel agencies and organize some diving trips every year. With the “ TSV Wasserratten” diving club, we regularly organize advanced training courses and various social events. New members are always welcome.
In cooperation with TPA, we take care of the legally required testing of your compressed air cylinders / diving equipment. We are also happy to take over dive computers and regulators for service and repair. Equipped with 3 compressors, we fill compressed air from 200 bar up to 300 bar. On customer request we can also produce different Nitrox mixtures. A separate outdoor filling station is in construction, where customers can serve themselves around the clock.
In front of the area of Tauch-Sport-Vienna and the shore the bottom is slightly sloping, which leads to a platform at 5m (heading east) and to a Neptune figure and a 2m-long shark made of plastic at about 7m. From the platform at 5m lines lead to a platform at 10m (heading south) and 20m (heading east).
Hotel Das Traunsee has a max depth of 30m. The bank structure is fairly shallow with a steep face. You can find platforms at 5m and 10m. Special features include a VW Bus at 12m. Enter from under the parking lot at the landing stage.
The artificial lake (lignite was mined here) near Vienna offers many training opportunities for beginners and advanced divers, especially at the TB Lorenc entrance; currently 2 5, 2 8, 12 and 20 meter platforms, 2 buoyancy tubes and many new sights sunk by dedicated divers.
At the entrance you will find a small sailing dinghy at a depth of 12-14m. From here, toward the left, you will reach two vertical trees at 18m after a few minutes. This is the so-called Twin Towers.
About 16-18 min north, 30-50m from shore, you will reach a steep wall that drops down to about 20m. Above it, at a depth of 5m, there is an extensive “seagrass meadow“ (sago pondweed), bordered in the west by the rising shore, which you can follow on your right, back to the entrance.
The dive site is located directly in the Europabad. (Access only possible when the lido is open) WC & bathing buffet open in summer in good weather. There is also a small diving center (Scuba Consult) with filling possibility. (normally only open at weekends and in summer)
There are 3 menhirs to dive, the bigger one starts at 18m and reaches a depth of 32m. Suitable for advanced divers. Since 2018, three life-size wooden figures have been built around the menhirs as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This freshwater dive site has a max depth of 20m and a slightly sloping bank structure. Rocks, tree trunks, and branches are everywhere. To the right, there is mainly monotonous muddy underground. To the left, you will find stony and sandy underground covered with rocks and tree trunks.
The Erlaufsee is a mountain lake at the foot of the Gemeindealpe not far from the village of Mitterbach am Erlaufsee. The border between Lower Austria and Styria runs through the lake. The ARGE DiveCard is mandatory.
Attention: Diveable from May to the end of September with proof of dive card. Max depth id 33m. Shore structure is shallowly sloping with mostly good visibility and some tree trunks to see.
Going south past the platform at 10m, you can dive for a long time at a depth 15 - 20m over several ridges. Under the shore in the west there is a smaller steep wall with small caves. Above an overgrown edge at about 6m, you can follow, along your left shoulder, back to the entrance.
Schlierwand is a freshwater dive site with a max depth or 35m. The site consists of a shallow band with steep walls. The walls are made clay with beautiful formations. You dive from the entrance to the left. You will find the steep face around 10m deep.
The Ofen dive site is a sloping dive site down to about 40 meters, then a steep wall begins which drops to over 100 meters.
Alexenau is an easily accessible lake dive great for divers of all levels. If you dive toward the left you will descend to around 30 meters and some tree stands where fish hide. Throughout the dive, you will average 8 meters deep and see large rocks throughout.
The dive site at the Lunzersee is a steeply sloping dive site, where you can reach almost 26 meters directly after the entrance. Furthermore, there are several platforms that are arranged one below the other.
