青海島内湾 (Oumijima Naiwan)
Aomi Island Bay (Shizuura) in Nagato, Yamaguchi, is a calm site with sandy-muddy seabed, reaching 22m deep (avg. 17m). Rich in marine life like yellowfin goby, kusauo, and cuttlefish, it’s especially active with mating chigara from January. Rare deep-sea snappers also appear, making it a macro diver favorite.
Shijinpo Bay hosts yellowfin goby, chagara, kusao, odori clown shrimp, snadfish, and seasonal deep-sea fish like striped snapper.
