At the most western point of the bay of Haifa lies a ridge of stones at a depth of 4 to 9 meters (12 to 27 feet). This is an easy shore entry with the reef beginning at just 300 meters (900 feet) from the shore.
The reef hosts a dense and rich bed of several kinds of sea weeds and is home to a large variety of snails, nudibranchs, and other animals. It is very common to spot sea hares.
