Advanced Open Water Diver

SSI Ecology Specialty programs provide basic knowledge and skills needed to identify different species of marine organisms and explain their role in marine ecosystems.

If you can't decide which specialty programs are the best choice for you, sign up for the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program! You'll try deep diving and navigation plus a range of 3 additional specialty areas before committing to the full specialty training. It's a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver program, you will experience 5 different specialties by completing one open water training dive per specialty after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI instructor. Taking this program gives you total freedom to explore. You can complete all the specialty trainings at any time and earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification for them.

The SSI Deep Diver Specialty will teach you everything you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters through a mix of academic sessions and open water dives. You'll learn how to plan and execute your diving adventures safely and how to use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most out of your dives. When you're done, you'll receive your SSI Deep Diver Specialty certificate and can explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose to dive. This SSI specialty is also a prerequisite for some advanced training, making it the next logical step in your diving education.
