Advanced Open Water Diver

Take the next step in your diving journey with the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program at Project Laut on Nusa Penida.

This program is designed for certified divers who want to build confidence, improve their skills, and experience a variety of specialty diving activities. During the course, you will complete five specialty training dives, each introducing you to a different aspect of advanced diving. Before every dive, your SSI Instructor will provide a detailed briefing so you understand the techniques, equipment, and knowledge behind each specialty.

Depending on conditions and interests, specialties may include Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility, Perfect Buoyancy, or Marine Ecology–related dives that allow you to experience the incredible biodiversity around Nusa Penida. One of the highlights of the program is a dive at Manta Point (subject to sea and weather conditions), where divers may have the chance to observe manta rays in their natural environment.

At Project Laut, advanced training is about more than simply logging dives. As an SSI Blue Oceans Training Center, we integrate ocean awareness and responsible diving practices into all of our courses. You will learn how improved buoyancy, situational awareness, and thoughtful dive planning not only make you a better diver, but also help protect fragile reef ecosystems.

All high-quality diving equipment is included, and boat days feature Indonesian lunches, snacks, coffee, and tea, allowing you to relax between dives while enjoying the spectacular coastline of Nusa Penida.

The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program also gives you flexibility for the future. If you later decide to complete full specialty courses, your training dives from this program can be credited toward those certifications.

With small groups, experienced instructors, and access to some of Indonesia’s most exciting dive sites, this program is the perfect way to expand your skills and discover new ways to explore the underwater world.
