Learn to dive in one of the most spectacular marine environments in the world with the SSI Open Water Diver Course at Project Laut on Nusa Penida.
Over 2.5 to 3 days, you will gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become a certified diver. Your training begins with engaging classroom sessions where our instructors introduce the fundamentals of diving, safety, equipment, and the underwater environment. This is followed by a pool training session, where you practise essential diving skills in a controlled setting before heading out to the ocean.
The course includes four open water training dives at some of Nusa Penida’s beautiful coral reef sites. One of these dives is conducted at the famous Manta Point (subject to sea and weather conditions), giving students the possibility to encounter manta rays in their natural habitat while completing their training.
At Project Laut, we believe learning to dive should also mean learning to care for the ocean. As an SSI Blue Oceans Training Center, marine conservation is integrated into the way we teach. From buoyancy training that protects fragile reefs to responsible wildlife interaction and sustainable diving practices, you will learn how to explore the underwater world while helping to protect it.
All high-quality diving equipment is included, and our boat days include freshly prepared Indonesian lunches, snacks, coffee, and tea, allowing you to relax and enjoy your surface intervals between dives.
Our small groups, experienced instructors, and strong focus on safety ensure that every student receives personal attention throughout the course. By the end of your training, you will earn the internationally recognised SSI Open Water Diver certification, allowing you to dive anywhere in the world.
Learning to dive is an unforgettable experience. Learning to dive while understanding and protecting the ocean makes it even more meaningful.
