If you can't decide which specialty program is best for you, join the SSI Advanced Adventure Program! This program allows you to experience a variety of specialties before committing to a full specialty program. It's a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures. During the Advance Adventure Program, you'll experience five different specialties. After a comprehensive briefing with an SSI Instructor, you'll complete one open water training dive per specialty. With this specialty diving experience program, you have complete freedom to explore your adventure. You can apply your Advanced Adventure training as credit towards the Specialty program at any time in the future.

The Divemaster program is the first step in an exciting journey. Earn the respect of your dive buddies and become an ambassador for diving by taking the Divemaster program. All you need to get started is 40 verified/recorded dives and certification in deep diving, navigation, night and limited visibility, or at least five recorded/verified dives in each area, plus diver stress and rescue. Upon successful completion of the Divemaster program, you're certified as a dive guide. If guiding certified divers, teaching ecology programs, assisting instructors or even turning your passion into a career by becoming an instructor yourself is your interest, the next step is the Divemaster upgrade with a minimum of 60 logins/verifications. You can upgrade to Divemaster right away or at any time after you study dive science materials on your own, pass the digital final exam and become an SSI Professional. Follow your passion by becoming a scuba instructor To participate in the SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC), you must be a certified divemaster or hold an equivalent rating. This comprehensive program is part of SSI's two-tiered approach to instructor training. You start with a combination of instructor training courses supported by immersive digital learning. After successfully completing the ITC, you attend an Instructor Evaluation (IE) to become an SSI Open Water Instructor. As a certified instructor, you can independently teach key SSI programs such as Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue, and Dive Guide. Need more time or want to gain hands-on experience before becoming a full instructor? You can take the assistant instructor portion as a standalone stage.
