In this sidemount diving course, you will learn everything you need to dive with a one or two tank sidemount to a maximum depth of 30 meters or to your certification depth, whichever is greater. Sidemount diving is a very common practice among many wreck, mine and cave divers, but the advantages for more recreational divers are now being discovered. By not carrying a heavy tank on your back, you will feel more comfortable in the water and see your hydrodynamics and horizontal trim position improve effortlessly. By using less energy, you can reduce your air consumption, so you can make better use of your dive time. By improving buoyancy control, valve access and redundancy, sidemount diving offers you more safety and peace of mind. The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty will teach you to dive beyond the no-decompression limits. You will learn how to plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using a total recreational dive system and a single decompression cylinder. In addition, you will know how to effectively use the dive computer functions, including gas switching, gas integration, time to reserve and time to surface. Eventually, you will use these dive computer functions instinctively and safely perform limited decompression dives without hours of planning. Upon completion, you'll earn SSI's Decompression Diving specialty certification and be able to explore deeper dive sites or larger wrecks without the restriction of traditional no-decompression limits, multiplying your adventure possibilities.

Description Have you always wanted to know exactly how air gets into scuba cylinders? Then this is the course for you. In two webinars, we explain the basic operation of compressors, without depending on a specific model. This includes, on the one hand, what happens in a compressor and, on the other hand, filling practice: what steps should be followed? What is the function of the filter? And what maintenance intervals should you check? The course does not include SSI material, only the SSI digital certification. There are two presentations as training material, which are also available after the course.

The Maya believed that cenotes were portals to the underworld. These mystical sites are ancient limestone sinkholes with crystal clear waters that are perfect for a unique freshwater diving experience. There are more than 6,000 cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula. More advanced cave divers can explore the hundreds of kilometers of subway rivers in the area. The two most important departure ports for diving trips are Cancun and Playa del Carmen. You can also decide to explore only the sinkhole area of the cenote, which requires you to have an Open Water certification. Be aware that some of the cenotes may require divers to walk long distances through the jungle, which is an adventure in itself. Diving in Mexico's cenotes is definitely an awesome experience.
