Becoming a certified SSI Specialty Instructor is easy. Train as an instructor and register for any specialty instructor seminar you would like to teach. Alternatively, you can teach your desired specialty course together with an experienced specialty instructor or apply directly to SSI for a review of your experience. If you teach enough specialties, you will automatically qualify for your Advanced Open Water Instructor certification.

The SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC) is the decisive step on the way to becoming a professional diving instructor. In this practice-oriented course, you will learn how to conduct diving training safely, in a structured and enjoyable way. Together we will deepen your knowledge of teaching methods, diving safety, student supervision and the SSI training standards.During the ITC you will develop your skills in the pool, open water and classroom and will be optimally prepared for the subsequent instructor evaluation. The course combines theory, workshops and practical exercises so that you can teach confidently and professionally as an SSI Open Water Instructor.
