The crossover (onboarding to SSI) begins with participation in the combination Assistant Instructor / Instructor Training Course, accompanied by Digital Learning. After successfully completing the Instructor Training Course (ITC), you will participate in an Instructor Evaluation (IE) to qualify as an SSI Open Water Instructor. This 10-day training entitles you to independently teach various SSI key programs such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue and Dive Guide. If you want to take more time to learn and gain valuable teaching experience between the training courses, you can also complete the 3 parts in individual steps - Assistant Instructor, Instructor Training Course (ITC) and Instructor Evaluation (IE) one after the other at your own pace and with a flexible schedule.

Take an Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty course if you want to shorten your surface intervals and extend your dive time. You'll spend more time exploring your favorite dive sites instead of waiting! With the course you will expand your diving knowledge to plan safe dives with enriched air mixtures up to 40% oxygen. After completing the course, you will receive an SSI Enriched Air Nitrox certification for 32% or 40%.

If you can't decide which specialty programs are best for you, join the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program! You'll try Deep Diving and Navigation, Buoyancy Control, Computer Diving and UW Photo & Video before deciding on a full specialty training. It's a great way to experience what Advanced Open Water Diver training is all about and how valuable it can be for your diving adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver program you will learn about 5 different specialties by completing one open water training dive per specialty after a detailed briefing with your SSI Instructor. This program gives you complete freedom to explore everything. You can complete the entire specialty training at any time and receive credit for your Advanced Open Water Diver training.

Becoming a certified SSI Dry Suit Diving Instructor is easy. Train as an instructor and register for the SSI Dry Suit Diving Instructor Seminar - alternatively you can co-teach with an experienced specialty instructor to achieve the qualification. If you teach enough specialties, you will automatically qualify for your Advanced Open Water Instructor certification.

The SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty course is the best way to improve your buoyancy and experience perfect dives. Buoyancy control is one of the most important diving skills, but as any experienced diver will tell you, it takes time to perfect. Night Diving & Limited VisibilityNight dives require skills that are very different from those needed for daytime dives. The SSI Night Diving & Limited Visibility Specialty Course is the best way to learn everything about night diving and practice the necessary techniques that will make you a safe and confident night diver. This course will provide you with all the knowledge and skills needed to dive safely and comfortably at night or in conditions of limited visibility.
