Open Water Diver

Coral reefs are a jewel for divers, as diving on reefs teeming with marine life is magical. These precious ecosystems are fascinating, and the best way to learn more about them and get the most out of coral diving is to take SSI's Coral Identification specialty program. You will learn how to identify the different corals and, in addition, you will obtain the SSI Coral Identification specialty certification.

The oceans are home to hundreds of species and, thanks to diving, you can spot countless fascinating creatures! In this program, you'll be taught all the skills and concepts you need to identify common families of reef fish from the Red Sea, Caribbean and Indo-Pacific. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Fish Identification specialty certification.

Sea turtles are one of the most wonderful animals to dive with. After completing SSI's Sea Turtle Ecology program, you'll be even more eager to dive among turtles. This specialty program teaches you the skills and concepts you need to identify common turtle species. You'll also learn about their history and the role they play in marine ecosystems, as well as the threats they face in order to survive. Upon completion, you will earn SSI's Sea Turtle Ecology specialty certification.

As a Nitrox Diver, you'll be able to increase your bottom times and safety margins and reduce surface intervals, so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting. In this program you will learn new skills and increase your dive knowledge. In addition, you will learn how to plan and safely dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you'll earn your SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.
