If you're still undecided about which specialized program suits you best, try enrolling in the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver course! You'll get to experience deep diving, navigation, and three additional specialized courses of your choice before deciding to commit to full-scale specialized training. It's an excellent way to experience what advanced diver training is like and how it can enhance your diving adventures. In the Advanced Open Water Diver program, you will experience five different specialties, with one open water dive per specialty. After receiving thorough briefings from an SSI instructor, you will dive in open water once per specialty. Completing this program will give you the freedom to explore on your own. You can take full specialty training at any time in the future and receive credit toward your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty Program teaches the essential skills to protect yourself and other divers. You will learn how to identify stress, prevent accidents, and receive instruction in practical techniques for conducting rescues and providing emergency care. Through a combination of pool sessions and open water dives, you will be prepared and confident in handling emergency situations and providing assistance. Upon completion, you will receive the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certificate.

The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey, earning the respect of your diving buddies and becoming a diving ambassador by joining the Divemaster program. What you need to start is 40 confirmed/logged dives and a certification. Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility, or experience with at least 5 confirmed/logged dives in each specialty, including Diver Stress & Rescue, you will be certified as a Dive Guide upon completion of the Divemaster course. If you are interested in turning your passion into a career by becoming a guide for certified divers, teaching ecology programs, assisting instructors, or even becoming an instructor yourself, your next step is to upgrade to Divemaster. To qualify, you must have a minimum of 60 logged/verified dives. You can upgrade to Divemaster immediately or at any time afterward by studying the Science of Diving independently and passing the post-course exam, which will make you an SSI Professional.
