Try diving in the Gasometer

For people with a diving license Public diving operations always take place on Saturdays, Sundays and on announced days. Diving operations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the diving center closes at 6 p.m. Requirements: Diving license: at least OWD-Open Water Diver Pre-registration: 1-2 weeks before your desired date On the day for which you have registered, you will come to our diving center, which is located directly on the large visitor parking lot of the landscape park. First you fill in the registration form and show us your certification and your valid diving license. If you have forgotten your diving license at home, you will need to fill out a health declaration. Afterwards you will receive a briefing from us about the further procedure. You can then assemble your diving equipment in the courtyard and change in the changing rooms with separate showers and toilets for men and women. We recommend that you bring a torch for diving. In front of the diving center, handcarts and handcarts are available for you to transport your diving equipment comfortably to the gasometer. Behind the stair tower, a freight elevator will be lowered for you so that we can transport your diving equipment to the top. All you have to do is walk up the stair tower, take your diving equipment out of the freight elevator and place it on the platform. The platform guard will then give you a briefing about the dive site and introduce you to diving in the gasometer. You can then get ready to dive. Please just make sure that you come out of the water with at least 50 bar in your scuba tanks. If you would like to do a second dive, please check with the platform guard whether and where you can leave your diving equipment on the platform. You then just bring your empty scuba tanks down to the dive center to fill them, hand them in at the rental shop and take a nice surface interval. In the meantime, you can stay in the dive center, where you can get hot and cold drinks, hot sausages or soup. Small snacks are also always available. Once you have regained your strength, you can plunge back into the waters of the Gasometer or, if you would like to take a longer break, you can visit the fascinating Duisburg Nord Landscape Park with its industrial history (admission free). After the dives, take your time to dismantle your diving equipment, take a nice warm shower and then relax and fill out your logbook. Finally, stamp your logbook with a gasometer stamp, check out and you're done ;)

You do not need any diving experience for this scuba diving course. Maybe you've already been scuba diving on vacation and aren't sure whether you should do a proper OWD course. Or maybe you would like to experience the adventure in the gasometer. During adventure diving you will receive a theory briefing and an experienced diving instructor will dive with you in the gasometer to a depth of 12.0m. During this guided dive in the gasometer, you will see our ship and plane wreck, the artificial reef and much more. The aim of this course is to give you the feeling of being able to breathe underwater and, as with all our courses, to have lots of fun. The rental equipment is of course included. You should allow about 3 hours including waiting time. We can never give you an exact time as it depends on many factors. If someone has problems, we give ourselves more time to give them the opportunity to get used to it. You must be physically and mentally fit to participate, even with a small cold problems would occur. Participation can take place at the age of 12 accompanied by a parent or guardian. For spectacle wearers: As we do not have optical glasses in the diving masks, please bring contact lenses. For beard wearers: Unfortunately, water will always get into the diving mask due to a snowy nose, so it is best to trim the snowy nose a little. Important: Do not fly 24 hours after diving! In the SSI Basic Diver course you will learn the skills and knowledge to dive to a depth of 12 meters together with an SSI Professional. It's a great way to discover even more of the underwater world on your way to becoming a diver. If you decide to take the next step in your diving adventure within 6 months and complete a Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver course, your Basic Diver course will be fully credited.
