Azul Diving Center Madeira, 9200-044 Caniçal Madeira Garajau (★4.3) This site is the most popular dive site on Madeira Island, located around 100 meters offshore. The sea bed consists of a sandy bottom where huge rock formations lie creating the perfect environment for the famous Dusky grouper. Can be done by boat or from the shore by car. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Dori Wreck (★4.5) Wreck 130 meters long and about 30m wide. Maximum depth of 22m at the bow and 18m at the stern, with a minimum depth of 12m in the shallowest part of the wreck. Areas partially destroyed and no penetration inside. Aqualung Baleeira (★4.0) Baleeira is a bay with a small beach of rolled stones. This site is very good for beginners and for try dives. Even though most access this site from a boat, you can stay on the beach and start your dive from there as well. Rhea Dive College, 9401-909 Porto Santo Âncoras (★4.5) The name derives from several abandoned local fisher boat anchors, which can be found there. Our anchor buoy is at 6m depth. It is an ideal dive site for Try Divers, beginners, check dives and snorkelling. Palmela Desporto, 2955-211 Pinhal Novo Jardim das Gorgónias (★4.0) This spot is one of the most popular in the area, only because of its easy orientation and the diversity of life. The most common course is to keep the rock on your left side and circle around it, taking into account that the north side of the rock is less deep, allowing for a long dive. Qmann Diving, 9700-301 Altares Lidador - Archaeological UW Park (★4.5) Diving along the Underwater Archaeological Park of Terceira Island, with access from land, easy entry and exit. Scubapro Âncoras do ilhéu de São Roque (★4.2) Dive Spot characterized by the existence of numerous historical anchors found along the Ponta Delgada marina. A wonderful easy diving spot directly in front of the diving center with excellent visibility and no currents so it is perfect for beginners, as well as experienced divers. Porto Santo Sub, 9400-240 Porto Santo Madeirense (Wreck) (★4.8) This cargo boat sunk in October 2000. The highest point of the wreck is at about 24m and the bottom can reach 35m. There is rarely a current and visibility is always more than 25m. This site is sheltered from the prevailing wind. SSI Iberica (Espana / Spain), 08028 Barcelona Cordeca (Wreck) (★4.8) This Navy corvette sunk in July 2016 to create an artificial reef. The top of the ship is at about 15m and the bottom is at 30m. Visibility is always greater than 25m. Usually sheltered from the current and the wind. Scubapro Ilhéu de Vila Franca - cozinha (★4.4) Located in the nature reserve of the islet of Vila Franca do Campo, where you can find many passages along the wall up to a depth of 10m along the rock. The maximum depth is 18m. Bottom of small rock formations mixed with sand. Aqualung Arcos da caloura (★4.2) Located 300m from a volcanic sand beach in the small bay of Caloura. The top of the reef is at 5m and can go down to 20m. At 16m we can find 4 impressive arches that are the main attraction of the dive. Mares Ponta da Galera (★4.2) Characterized by several arches in the shallow area between 14 and 18m with the possibility of several passages, and by lava flows that can go up to 40m deep. Area with a possible strong current. Mares, Janez Kranjc Baixa do Espelho (★4.2) The top of the reef starts at 7m with a maximum depth of 35m. Characterized by the presence of a large volcanic hole with an arch, where we can swim through. Very varied marine life with a mixture of rock and sandy bottoms. It is also a good option to combine diving and snorkeling experiences. EasyDivers Unipessoal Lda, 8200-371 Albufeira Santa Eulália (★4.5) Santa Eulalia is the most popular dive site in Albufeira. It is a natural aquarium at a depth accessible to all diving levels. With a wide variety of marine life, you can see nearly all species of fauna and flora in the Algarve region concentrated at this dive spot. Octopus diving center, 9760-997 Praia da Vitória Cinco Ribeiras (★4.6) Cinco Ribeiras is a cavern at 17m deep and is for advanced divers only. Chamber 1 is called shrimp cave, chamber 2 is called Cavaco swim-through, and chamber 3 is called funnel. You can return through one of the 3 exits. Fabio Duarte F. (#3016802) Naufrágio (Corceira) Corveta Afonso Cerqueira (★4.6) The corvette „Afonso Cerqueira“ was sunk on 04.09.2018 in front of the island Madeira. It is now a big attraction as artificial reef for divers and freedivers. All decks and rooms are accessible. The Wreck is 85 Meter long and rest in a depth of 12 - 33 Meters. Mares, Janez Kranjc Blue Hole (★4.5) One of the most popular dive sites in Madeira! The entry point is directly at the promenade Reis Magos, in Canico de Baixo. The site can be dived from land as well as by boat. Scorpio Madeira Diving Center, 9200-031 Caniçal Scorpio House Reef (★4.8) Perfect dive site for beginners, diving and snorkeling. The dive site in front of the center has an easy entrance accessible to all starting from 2m to 12-14m with a small wreck on the right side of the tip. Rhea Dive College, 9401-909 Porto Santo Pedra do Ginja (★4.4) The dive site, formerly named “Pedra do J“, has been renamed to “GINJA“ after a resident dusky grouper. SUBMANIA - Escola de Mergulho, 4460-273 Senhora da Hora Silver Valley (Wreck) (★3.7) This is the shipwreck of a freighter near the mouth of the Douro River, on a sandy bottom 14 meters deep with a West-East orientation. Accessible only by boat. H2ON, 4250-159 Porto Terceirense (★4.3) Cargo ship sunk to 20 meters deep accessible only by boat. Large sections of hull still intact, tubes, boilers and other components are scattered on a sandy bottom populated by an intense marine fauna. Submania - Escola de Mergulho, 4460-273 Senhora da Hora Brenha (Wreck) (★4.1) This is the wreck of a trawling vessel located northwest of the Guilhada rock, Mindelo. She is on a sandy bottom, leaning against a stone, tumbled to starboard 27 meters deep. This site is accessible only by boat. Submania - Escola de Mergulho, 4460-273 Senhora da Hora Navio do Norte (Wreck) (★4.1) Old shipwreck located off S Paio, Vila Chã. Mares Maldivas (★4.6) Situated on the east side of the island, this site is a great place for beginners with depths between 5 and 9 meters, without currents, and with curious rock formations. Scubapro Pião (★4.0) This dive spot is formed by several pinnacles surrounded by sand, but none the less full of lie. It is easy to go from one pinnacle to another because they are very close to each other. Aqualung Pedra do Meio (★3.8) This dive site has a maximum depth of about 13m and consists of a shallow stone that extends from west to east near the exit of the port. Diving this site is very easy and you are always surrounded by life. Mares, Janez Kranjc River Gurara Popa (★4.2) River Gurara MV was a Nigerian cargo motor vessel that sank on 26th February 1989 in Cape Espichel, during a strong storm.The ship broke in the middle, keeping its stern near the coast at an average depth of 23mts. Mares, Janez Kranjc Willy Wonka (★4.6) Located just 10 minutes from the Ponta Delgada marina, the name of this spot comes from the fact that it is in front of a chocolate factory. It is formed by rocks of volcanic origin with depths ranging from 7m to 19m. During the dive you can pass through arches of different sizes. Palmela Desporto, 2955-211 Pinhal Novo Batelão (★4.1) A small shipwreck of the barge that transported the stones appears in the construction of the new point of the harbor of Sesimbra.It is split in two but despite its small dimensions it is a very pleasant place for divers who are beginners or with less experience. Aqualung Baia de Sao Pedro (★4.2) Protected dive site with access from the coast and a maximum depth of 9m. Excellent conditions for teaching open water diving. Presence of marine life with a mixed bottom of rock and sand. Aqualung Baixa das Âncoras (★4.2) This rocky area used to be an anchorage for boats visiting the Port of Vila Franca. It is characterized by having several scattered anchors from different periods, some of which are still intact. Mares, Janez Kranjc VidaMar House Reef (★4.7) VidaMar house Reef is a shore dive with easy accessibility and is available to all divers from beginners to advanced divers.The good visibility, no current, and ease of access make this spot an excellent first dive in Madeira. It also offers an amazing night dive! Mares Maior Recife Natural de Portugal (★4.4) Largest Natural Reef in Portugal is located in Algarve - Armação de Pera. It is 4 nautical miles from the coast, with depths between 15 and 22 meters, and protected by the bay, allowing excellent diving conditions all year round. Aqualung ILHÉU DE SÃO ROQUE (★4.7) 5min by boat from Ponta Delgada marina. It has a sand bottom between 5 and 10m deep. Ideal for Entry Level Divers. Surrounded by a volcanic wall from the surface to the bottom. Mares O Arco (★4.6) Located 10 minutes by boat from the Ponta Delgada marina, it is characterized by a bottom made of volcanic rocks and a main arch within 3 to 4 meters high.
