Mares, Janez Kranjc Habagat, Wreck (★4.5) Located in front of Alona Beach, usually within 10 minutes by speedboat from a resort, the Habagak wreck point is a yacht that sank due to heavy rain during the Habagak season. The yacht is lying on the sandy bottom at a depth of about 34m, so the no-decompression limit time is short, but it is not a large ship, Hans E. (#3545391) Apo Island Marine Sanctuary (★4.4) To date, Apo Island is one of the most successful conservation stories in the Philippines. Marine Sanctuary was one of the first sanctuaries in the Philippines, where a maximum of only 15 divers are allowed at a time. Aqualung Tongo Point (★4.2) The gentle slope of this dive site starts at about 12m, going all the way to 65m. On some days you can encounter quite strong currents in Tongo Point. Elias P. (#2102022) Coco Grove House Reef (★4.6) A shallow slope makes this the perfect site for beginners. Just in front of Coco Grove resort, you will find a beautiful and colorful variety of coral and small fish. This site is easy to dive and not a lot of current. Aqualung Kan Oran Reef (★4.5) Slightly north of the Marine Sanctuary is a gentle wall dive that ‘Kan-Uran Point’ affords divers. Kan-uran means ’from the person,’ in the local Visayan dialect. Newbie fun divers can experience getting inside overhangs & ledges to explore an abundant gentle explosion of colorful soft & hard coral gardens. Mares Marigondon Port (★3.8) Located to either side of Marigondon Port it offers short sandy flats then dropping off to deep sweeping walls. Often very strong currents and down-currents in the area. The constant boat traffic in the area requires good buoyancy control to remain at safe depths in some of the shallower areas. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Cogon (★4.5) Cogon means grass in the Filipino language. ‘Cogon Point’ was named after the grass used for roofing native houses that can be seen directly onshore, northeast of Apo Island. FANTASTIC DIVE, 6015 Lapu-lapu City Kontiki House Reef (★4.6) Kontiki House Reef Point is located 30 seconds away from Mactan Fantastic Dive Point and is a point where you can safely receive training in scuba diving, technical diving, and freediving. The distance to the wall is clear so it is very easy to get in and out. . The kitchen rope creates a safety border, making the Peter S. (#417559) Monad Shoal (★4.3) Monad Shoal is considered the best dive site in the world to see the rare and timid Thresher Sharks. These sharks normally live in the deep but regularly come here early in the morning for the cleaning station. Mares, Janez Kranjc Garden Eels (★4.5) The Garden Eel dive site in Alona, Panglao is a sandy slope near the reef where colonies of garden eels can be seen swaying with the current as they feed on plankton. The site is shallow to moderate in depth, best enjoyed with slow, calm diving, and is often combined with nearby reef areas rich in macro life. Mares, Janez Kranjc Panagsama Beach/Sardine Run (★4.4) Panagsama Beach is a world-famous dive site because of the sardine ball that can be found just a few meters below the surface within snorkeling distance from the beach. This is an amazing experience for all levels of divers. Mares Napaling Reef - Right (★4.5) Napaling Point is a point that can be reached by driving about 15 minutes northeast from Kasam Dive Resort. You can mainly enjoy freediving, snorkeling, and scuba diving. When you first enter the water, you go down the cliff to 20 meters. After 20 meters, it is a slope. Aqualung Punta (★4.4) The very first marine protected area in Dauin is also the most popular dive site due to its proximity and gentle slopes. This makes it the perfect spot for beginners. Mactan Scuba Dive Centre, 6015 Lapu Lapu City Marigondon Beach (★4.2) An easy shore entry takes you to 3-8m/ 6 to 25 ft shallow reef ending in a vertical wall, descending to 40m+ depths. Ideal for all levels of divers, however care should be taken on outbound tides as the currents can be very strong. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Gato Island (★4.5) Gato Island is a well preserved marine reserve and sea snake sanctuary. This is one of the five famous dive sites on the Island. The site is a tunnel where you take a tour underneath the island. This site is best for more experienced divers/ Mares Padre Burgos Jetty (★4.5) Some call it a jetty & some call it a pier, but still others call them concrete pylons or concrete pillars. ‘Padre Burgos Pier’ is one of the best diving locations in the world to check off macro critters in your diving lifetime. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Son-ok point (★4.2) Son-ok Point at Pintuyan, Panaon Island holds the distinction as having documented the most number of modern-day whale shark encounters at Southern Leyte! Peter S. (#417559) Kimud Shoal (★4.8) After the tresher sharks disappeared from Monad Shoal for unknown reasons and moved to the Kimud Shoal, this is now one of the best dive sites in the world to see the rare and elusive tresher sharks. These sharks normally live in the deep but regularly come here for the cleaning stations at shallower depths. Hans E. (#3545391) Rock Point West (★4.4) Located on the southwest corner of Apo Island, Rock Point West is adjacent to it’s sibling Rock Point East. A steep slope leads you to a plateau towards the southern tip where the current gets stronger most of the time. Mares Dakit Dakit (★4.2) Small rocks are coming out of the water and make a stunning atmosphere especially during sunset. Strong currents can be found at this dive site, but during other times of the day it is a perfect dive site for check-up dives, open water and advanced divers. E&Z Diving Center, 6015 Lapu-lapu City Cordova reef (★4.2) Cordova Reef is a 15mins boat travel from EZDC Housereef. A slope terrain from shallow up to 21m/67 feet, then wall. Good for beginner and Advanced level divers. Dive Point Siquijor, 6227 San Juan, Siquijor Sawang (★4.4) This site has large boulders full of corals and marine life. Afterwhich, the bottom slowly changes to a sandy slope which leads to a small wall filled with coral. Hans E. (#3545391) Chapel Reef (★4.5) The Catholic Chapel at Apo Island can be seen from the dive site, hence the name. A stunning dive site that begins as a slope with scattered coral bommies leading to a steeper slope towards a wall overloaded with nook, crannies, cracks, crevices & caverns exposing overhangs graced by soft & hard corals. Mares Tambisan Wall (★4.2) A very relaxing and comfortalble dive. Great for every level of diver. Beautiful coral gardens. You will find the special black coral trees in the area. Mares Alona Reef (★4.5) Wreck dive locally called the Hagabat Wreck or Bohol Divers Wreck. Usually starts with a descent down a line close to a wall and then down the slope to the wreck. The top of the wreck is at 28M and the bow of the wreck is at 37M. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Danao Wall (★4.4) Danao Wall on Panglao Island, Bohol is a top dive site with vibrant corals, sponges, and sea fans on a dramatic wall that drops beyond 60m. Most dives stay around 15–25m, where visibility is excellent and volcanic rock formations add to the beauty. A must-dive in the Philippines. Scubapro Deep Rock (★4.0) 10 minutes of Malapascua port to the north side, a deep rocky pinnacle perfect for expert diving looking for intermediate to strong current on tide changes, going down to top of the pinnacle at 14m down to the deepest part at 34m Aqualung Katipanan Reef (★4.4) A great dive site for new divers. This site is very easy to dive and the coral and sea turtles will just take your breath away. A beautiful slope that lets you see the far reaching coral gardens and if you look close, you will have the chance to see nudibranchs and a lot of colorful reef fish. Mares Tuble Sanctuary (★4.3) Tuble Point is a wall dive site featuring vertical cliffs, caves, and healthy coral reefs that drop from 3m to 40m. Highlights include sea fan forests, small caves, and the chance to see large fish like tunas and jacks. Visibility ranges from 10–22m, ideal for all levels. Stephane C. (#3858207) Coconut Point (★4.5) A virtual washing machine experience awaits you at Coconut Point, an exciting dive site on the northern tip of Apo Island. The current can come at you literally from any side left, right, up, down & center. A sloping reef edging towards a rock wall. This site is best for experienced divers. Mares Rock Point East (★4.6) Rock Point East is a finger-shaped reef located on the southeast corner of Apo Island, primarily exposed to prevailing currents ensuring an abundance of reef fish, colorful coral formations, and occasional visits from pelagic species. DIVESTORY CORPORATION, 6015 LAPU - LAPU Pescador West / Cathedral (★4.4) Pescador Cathedral is a cave that has a vertical swim through offering views of the surface. The depth ranges from 5 to 65 meters with a visibility of 20 to 50 meters. Its chimney continues to around 16m depth. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Momo Beach (★4.5) A peaceful and scenic dive site known for its calm conditions and divers habitat. The site features a gently sloping sandy bottom interspersed with coral patches, seagrass areas, and small reef formations. Depths are generally shallow to moderate, making it suitable for beginners, training and relaxed dives. DIVESTORY CORPORATION, 6015 LAPU - LAPU Pescador East (★4.4) Pescador Island’s east side, near Moalboal, Cebu, features a dive starting at a 5m plateau descending to 65m along a coral-covered slope. The dive concludes on a plateau rich in small marine life, also ideal for snorkeling. Aqualung Medicare (★4.5) Right in front of the Medicare facility on land. A mild current allows you to cover both dive sites. A steep rocky slope descends to 20 meters on Medicare South moving deeper to 25 – 30 meters towards Medicare North. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Max Climax (★4.3) Along Padre Burgos a few dive centers have lined up facing the east coast on the western side of Sogod Bay, Southern Leyte. ‘Max Climax’ is part of a wall more than a kilometer long that connects a few house reefs. Aqualung Rico’s Wall (★4.6) Rico’s Wall, Balicasag is a spectacular wall dive featuring a steep coral-covered drop-off starting from a shallow reef and descending into deep blue water. The wall is rich in hard and soft corals, sea fans, and sponges. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Tangka-an Point (★4.5) A peninsular dive spot on the southern tip of Padre Burgos. Exposed to a 3 sided waterfront from the south, east, and west make for a good drift dive when the currents pick up. Mares Turtle Rock (★4.1) Divers plunge to the deepest depth of the wall at 20 meters & follow a bearing to the sandy slope westward to check out 4 massive rock boulder outcroppings. BLUE MONSTAR, 6015 Lapu-lapu City Abaca House Reef (★4.4) Blue Monsta Houseleaf is a five-minute drive from Maktan Newtown and you can see a variety of marine life, especially turtles, trigger fish, grouper, crown fish, trumpet fish, sardines, fan coral and seahorses. HB ANDA SCUBA DIVING CENTER CORP., 6311 ANDA Virgen west (★4.7) Virgen West is located in the middle of the Virgen marine sanctuary. The top of the reef starts around 5m and the drop off go down until 30m. On the bottom its interesting sandy slop. Dive Point Siquijor, 6227 San Juan, Siquijor Johnlhea Coral Garden (★4.7) One of the most popular shore entries in Siquijor is 1,3 kilometers south of San Juan town center. You will find on the right side the John Lhea Resort sign board. Turn in and check in at Dive Point DC which is located there for a shore dive in Coral Garden. A great site for a night dive. Hans E. This site is great for macro diving, like the whole of Apo Island. Scubapro Apo Scuba House Reef (★4.6) One of the best spots for macro diving—ideal for spotting fascinating and tiny critters. Dauin is a paradise for underwater photographers and macro enthusiasts, offering black sand dive sites teeming with rare and exotic marine life. The area’s nutrient-filled waters create the perfect habitat for muck diving.
