(58)
Barney’s Rock (Panau Island) is located 15min south on SH1 From Daves Diving Kaikoura. This is the gateway to the Hikurangi Marine Reserve and diving around the island you reach depths of 19m.
The rock is a resting area for the New Zealand Fur Seal. Often Dusky Dolphins and junvenile whales pass through this area! With plenty of fish life and crayfishes amongst the dense kelp!
