Miyaru is the Dhivehi (Maldivian) word for shark. Gaa means as much as “Block“ in the local language. Putting both parts together creates the perfect description of this place. To be more precise “Nurse Shark Block“ would hit the nail on its head...
With a depth level of 2 to 7 meters, this block is the ideal place to observe the local nurse sharks and stingrays which are cruising around this area. Ideal for diving and snorkeling!
