On the Northeast part of the island we find this spot. We start on a rocky plateaux at 6 meters going down into the chanell along the huge canoyns of rock until maximum depth of 20 mts; we move along the cannoys and the sandy bottom exploring all holes discovery a lot of different species. during the dive.

Swallow easy-going dive, a mix of a sandy rocky bottom, inside a bay with lots of life to be found, easy entrance/exit to/from the water, starting on around 2/3 meters of water, going to 15 to 18 meters depending on the level of the diver.

Kwarcit Wreck (Boris) (★4.3)

Artificial reef deployed and created by Manta Diving Center in January 2006 under their project Rebuilding Nature. This is the very first artificial reef in the Cape Verde archipelago.

This 11-meter-deep wreck is perfect for beginners and advanced divers to enjoy a relaxing dive. The 60-year-old wreck was a 30-meter-long boat traveling between islands that smashed into the shallowest rocky part near the shore.

Pontinha is a wall that starts at 14 m going down to 30 m maximum. The dive can be divided in two parts, a deep one around 30m and a shallower one, around 20 m. The slope at the bottom of this wall carries on into the deep blue depths.

Furna de Rosa (★4.7)

The name ´´ Furna´´ means ’’ Deep cavity; Cave’’, and ’’Rosa’’ refers to a ´´garden´´ of multicolored corals that extend around the cave, especially at the entrance, giving us a magnificent view right at the beginning of the dive. The cave is about 8m high, 10m wide and 16m long.

Canjana (★4.4)

Located 11.3km from Porto Grande, Canjana is located in a bay largely protected from the wind and northeastern waves, offering calm and drift-style diving. The deepest part is next to the Pinnacle (17-19 meters), where the greatest abundance of life is found. Typically offers good visibility.

When there are excellent conditions, the spot really emphasizes the name ’’Aquário’’, especially in the protected part that has a wall that extends outwards, making almost a 90º angle with the rock, giving it a square shape, giving the idea of a natural aquarium. It is 15-20mn far from the Pier (by boat ).

Sem Âncora (★4.6)

It is said that the first few times people dove there, the staff forgot the anchor twice, and therefore the boat was without anchor, ( Sem Ancora) to the drift. It is usually a quiet spot.

9km from the center of Diving, Fateja or Tojoa. This spot is mostly run in drift style, with rocks on the right, culminating with a wall at the end with a cavity underneath. It can reach max. 22m, following a “gorge“ through the sand.

Ponta de Nho Jon ( Shallow) (★4.6)

Located within the Bay, it offers excellent conditions; calm water on the surface, with good visibility, making it perfect for try dives, snorkeling, courses, and experienced divers. With a great concentration of life, it offers the possibility of “zigzagging” between the rocks, especially between 5 and 12 meters.

A 7,5 km de Porto Grande, 10-15 minutos de barco, é um dos melhores locais da ilha! Podendo atingir profundidades inferiores a 50 metros, com correntes constantes, por vezes muito fortes. É muito rico em espécies pelágicas, especialmente em torno do Pináculo (27m), que é adornado com corais.

Ladra Cachorro (★4.5)

Approximately 5 to 8 minutes by boat from Porto Grande bay, this place, like the other bays, offers shallow and drift diving, with a large concentration of schools and other attractions. It is said that the tip of the rock resembles the head of a howling dog. It has a maximum depth of 22 meters.

Ponta de Tubarão (★4.3)

Also known as ’’Ponta do Morro Branco’’, it is a place totally different from others, at the foot of the mountains. In this particular case, you have to swim to the Open Water, between the 3 reefs. It has a max depth of 16m, with the average being between 11-13m. Rich in shoals, corals, gorges and small caves.

SS Marcar (★4.2)

With a maximum depth of 15 meters, the SS Marcar was a Liberty Ship built in the USA during World War II. The ship was suffering water leaks so it was stranded in Tarrafal, Santo Antão and later towed to São Vicente. In 1968 she sank in the Bay.

Edzina (★4.4)

The name is a mix of Éder and Zina, two divers who discovered the spot, after following rocks and fragments on Northwest of ́ ́Ponta de Tubarão’’. It is undoubtedly one of the top 5 on the island, containing peculiar characteristics and being so far the only recorded reef that is right in the middle of the sand.

Ponta de Peça (★4.0)

At the last point before you reach Tarrafal we find this spot. Rocky wall descending until more than 40 meters, full of big rocks that makes holes for the several species. Sometimes because we are in a point cape you can have some current and if you put an eye on the blue we can have some big suprises like mantas.

Central Station (★3.0)

near the end of Paço de Pau bay, we found this spot. shallow dive moving around sand and rocky part with a lot of holes to explore searchring for many diferent species. Some small caverns/holes that we can enter with the ceiling completely covered of yellow and orange coral polips, and shools of fish everywear.
