USS Emmons
One of the largest shipwrecks in Okinawa. It takes about 20 minutes by boat from Kouri Island, which is located in the northern part of Okinawa’s main island and is the longest bridge in Okinawa. The 106-meter-long battleship is lying on the bottom of the water with the original model intact.
Even today, countless explosives such as torpedoes (detonators and fuses), gunpowder, explosives, and shells remain. You can also see the remains of huge main guns, screws, machine guns and soldiers’ helmets. A memorial plate is attached to the hull. There are many deep-sea fish such as red snapper and red snapper. Eagle stingrays are also often seen.
