Egypt 6 - Brothers , Daedalus Islands - 2026

The Brothers are two small islands off the east coast of Egypt (about 6 hours).This track can be accessed from either Hurghada or Marsa Alam. Daedalus is a large island about 2km square about 11 hours by boat south below the Brothers Islands. The Little and Big Brothers is characterized by steep walls that drop to great depths. The reefs here are covered with huge Gorgonians, soft corals and amazing colonies of black corals. In the shallower waters there are large schools of bearded, chamber, thornback, snapper and barracuda.At greater depths you can see lagoon sharks, reef sharks, fox sharks and, with luck, hammerheads and whale sharks. In addition to the rich fauna and flora along the reef walls, there will be the opportunity to see the wreck of the cargo ship Numidia at depths of 8 to 80 metres or the remains of the transport ship Aida II. The route will depart from Hurghada or Marsa Alam and it is possible to visit sites in the Safaga area on the way back : GOTTA ABU RAMADA, PANORAMA REEF, TOBIA ARBA, SALEM EXPRES (wreck). Daedalus is the most interesting site on the open sea just off Sudan where there is a year round probability of seeing schools of hammerheads.
