If you can't decide which specialty programs are the best fit for you, join the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program! You'll experience deep diving and sailing, plus a variety of three more specialty areas of your choice before committing to full specialty training. This is a great way for you to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be for your diving adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver Program, you'll experience 5 different specialties, completing one open water training dive per specialty, after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI instructor. By participating in this program, you will have complete freedom to explore. You can complete the full specialty trainings at any time in the future and credit your Advanced Open Water Diver training to them.

In this sidemount diving course, you’ll learn all you need to go single or two-cylinder recreational sidemount diving up to a maximum depth of 30 meters or to your certification depth, whichever is deeper. Sidemount diving is already common practice for wreck, mine, and cave divers, but now the benefits are being discovered by more recreational divers. With no heavy tank on your back, you’ll be more comfortable in the water and find your streamlining and trim improve effortlessly. By using less energy you may reduce your gas consumption so you can make the most of your dive time. With better buoyancy control, easier access to your valves and more redundancy as well, sidemount diving offers safety and peace of mind. This is the best sidemount diving course to discover and enjoy the enticing advantages of this dive style. You learn all the skills and knowledge you need to safely and comfortably dive with a single or two-cylinder sidemount equipment configuration.

SSI's Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. You will learn how to identify stress, avoid accidents, and learn practical techniques for performing rescues and providing emergency care. With a combination of hands-on pool and open water sessions, you'll become well-prepared and confident to handle emergency and rescue situations. Upon completion, you will receive the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification.

The Divemaster program is the first step on an exciting journey. Earn respect from your fellow divers and become a diving ambassador by taking the Divemaster program. All you need to get started are 40 verified/registered dives and certifications in Deep Diving, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility or at least 5 logged/verified dives of experience in each of these areas, in addition to Diver Stress & Rescue training. You will be certified as a Dive Guide (DG) after successfully completing the Divemaster program. When your interest is to turn your passion into a profession by guiding certified divers, teaching Ecology programs, assisting instructors, or even becoming an instructor, your next step is the Divemaster Upgrade with a minimum of 60 logged/verified dives. Upgrade to Divemaster immediately or later, at any time you like, by studying the Science of Diving material on your own. Upon finishing and passing the Digital Final Exam, you will become an SSI Professional.
