It allows you to gain valuable teaching experience, practice briefings, teach academic subjects and conduct in-water training. Photo and Video Purpose: Underwater photography is one of the most popular dive specialties and the advent of digital underwater photography equipment has made it easier and more fun than ever. Independent Diver / Solo diver. This SSI course is for highly experienced divers who are interested in being taught diving techniques and equipment requirements to become more self-reliant as divers and independent. Enable you to prevent and/or solve problems. It is not intended for everyone to dive on their own, but for some divers this specialty is really good. For example, diving instructors and divemasters often technically dive alone, because they don't have a buddy to help them in an emergency.
