The SSI Sidemount program is designed to teach divers how to dive using tanks positioned on the sides of the body, rather than on the back.
During the course, you will learn how to properly set up and use your sidemount equipment, as well as develop the skills necessary to achieve good buoyancy, trim, positioning, and equipment control. You will also work on gas management techniques, tank configuration, regulator changes, and safety procedures specific to sidemount diving.
The program combines theoretical training with practical sessions in confined and open water, allowing you to gradually become familiar with this environment and develop confidence and control underwater.
Sidemount diving offers greater flexibility in the water and can be especially useful for divers looking to improve their setup, explore tighter spaces, or simply try a different way of carrying their gear.
Upon completing the program, you will earn the SSI Sidemount certification
