Through online learning and open water and confined water dives, the SSI Scuba Diver program gives you the perfect foundation to become an independent and safe diver. You will learn everything you need for open water dives to a maximum depth of 12 meters together with an SSI Professional. With this program you complete about half of the Open Water Diver program and can upgrade your certification later. An SSI Scuba Skills Update will get you back in the water and back to your old strength in no time at all. In the refresher course, you repeat and practise the diving skills from your Open Water Diver program under the guidance of an SSI professional. However, a scuba skills update is not only a relaxed way of refreshing your diving skills, but often also a prerequisite for resuming diving training after a break. If you don't want to worry about your skills on your diving vacation and would rather enjoy the underwater world instead, take the course shortly before your trip. The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty shows you how to dive beyond no-decompression limits. You will learn to plan and execute dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational diving system and a single decompression tank. You will learn and practice how to effectively use the functions of your dive computer, such as gas exchange or gas integration, as well as remaining air time and ascent time. Using these computer functions will quickly become second nature to you so that you can conduct safe dives with limited decompression without hours of dive planning. Upon completion of the course, you will receive the SSI Decompression Diving Specialty certification, allowing you to explore stunning deep dive sites or large wrecks without the limitation of no-decompression limits.
