Pike are a predatory freshwater fish species that are easy to identify with their elongated bodies, pointed snout, and large, sharp teeth. Both their dorsal and anal fins are set back far on the tail, making them appear even longer than they already are. These voracious hunters are popular game fish in both North America, Europe, and northern Asia. Diving with pike is an unforgettable experience as they can grow quite large and are very pretty underwater with their pale to bright yellow bean-shaped spots all over the body and brilliant orange to red colored fins.

Getting to scuba dive with pike is fairly easy as they are an abundant freshwater fish found in lakes and rivers of all temperatures all around the world. A popular dive site for all levels of divers, you can see the underwater sculpture placed here with six standing human figures looking up, surrounded at an 18-foot radius by benches at each cardinal point. Two sturgeons point north at 35 feet out, a tribute to a species that was once plentiful in the river.

Murner See Rutsche (★4.1)

On the southern shore of Lake Murner See, a former open-cast lignite mine, you will find the entrance “Slide.“ At about 5 m a metal material slide begins, which goes down to a depth of about 40 m. In the shallow area there is also a beautiful underwater forest. The acidic water provides mostly good visibility.
