Perfect for freediving, scuba diving, and snorkeling as well. Maldives Passions, 08090 Maafushi Kandooma Thila (★4.5) This “Thila” is in the middle of the kandooma kandu. From 2000 to 2009 this dive site was ranked world 10th place of shark diving. The top of the reef is full of hard corals. The sides of the “Thila” are covered with soft corals. The currents are strong here and highly recommend for Advanced and Nitrox divers. Amed Jepun Divers, 80852 Amed, Karangasem Liberty Coral Garden (★4.5) There is a garden of anemones and about 60 statues on the far right side of the dive site. This is a nice second dive in the morning to get away from the crowds at Liberty Wreck. Entry and exit from the beach can be difficult. Mares Shark Airport (★4.5) The sloping, terrace-like area of the reef, found at 20 meters, is the highlight of this dive site. This is where several whitetip reef sharks can be spotted all at once. This dive site is very remote and only accessible by a liveaboard boat. Scubapro Lekuan 1 (★4.5) Located in the middle of the coral triangle at Bunaken National Park, this dive site is a wall dive thriving with marine life like beautiful corals, sponges, and more! Perfect for freediving, scuba diving, and snorkeling as well. Mares Rasdhoo North Channel (★4.5) North Channel on the north/north-east side of Rasdhoo Atoll. The channel is relatively shallow and with average depth of 20 m is suitable for competent open water divers. The current can get quite strong here, so choosing the right time to visit is important. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Whale Shark Wall, Ko Phi Phi (★4.2) Situated on the east side of Phi Phi Ley, Palong Bay is the next bay north of the famous Maya Bay, made famous by the movie “The Beach.” This dive is relatively easy and is rarely affected by currents. The dive heads south from Palong Bay towards Maya Bay. Aqualung Tanjung Basi (★4.2) Tanjung Basi locates at the Northernmost Tip of Perhentian Besar. The reef sits at 15-20m depth, and current can be strong at times. This is the primary site in Perhentian for deep diving activities, with massive boulders, overhangs, and swim throughs offers an interesting opportunity for divers to explore. Mares Perhentian Tokong Laut (★4.4) Tokong Laut, or Tukun Laut, is a pinnacle located off Susu Dara Besar. It is considered the ultimate dive site around the Perhentians, with a myriad of Hard and Soft Coral around the sloping wall of the pinnacle. Current can be strong, and descents are usually deep except for a few spots. Mares Tanjung Parigi (★4.4) Located in the middle of the coral triangle at Bunaken National Park, this dive site is a wall dive thriving with marine life like beautiful corals, sponges, and more! Perfect for freediving, scuba diving, and snorkeling as well. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Paku Kechil (★4.1) Accessible by a 2-minute boat ride from Long Beach, the entry point is approximately 7–9 meters, and the depth is 18–20 meters. This sloping dive site is full of coral with sandy areas at 18 meters. The end point is a rocky area. Also suitable at high or low tide. iDIVE Komodo, 86554 Labuan Bajo Tatawa Kecil (★4.7) Tatawa Kecil is another great dive site in central Komodo National Park for those who love and know currents. As currents can be very strong, this dive spot is for experienced divers only. This spot offers great visibility, pelagic fish, small creatures, and a beautiful coral reef. Mares, Janez Kranjc Kanifinolhu Beyru (★4.3) On the eastern side of Kani Finolhu. A long reef were the top reef starts from 5 meters. with a sand patch from 15 meters. big rock in different depth and locations of the site. Mares Mantas and More (★4.5) This is a top dive site in this area, located to the east of Mulee Island. During the season from December to May, it is possible to spot manta rays with their offspring, busying themselves around the numerous cleaning stations at 10 - 15 meters. The gentle slope from 15 - 30 meters is adorned with coral formations. Aqualung Maaya Thila, North Ari Atoll (★4.5) Once this dive site was on the top 10 best in the world. Due to this rating many divers dived this site and specially at night. The damage on the top of this Thila (diver error) is bad, but as from 12m acceptable. At night many giant trevally and some white tips hunting. Sub Oceanic at Hilton Maldives Amingiri, 20188 North Male Atoll Bandos Rock (★4.4) Bandos Rock is located on the house reef of Bandos Island Resort. The top reef starts at 3 to 5 meters and drops (rather steeply) to a sandy bottom at 30+ meters. You will find several caves and interesting overhangs on the wall. Enjoy the large table corals, the pinnacle and a canyon. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Raymond’s Point (★4.5) Located in the middle of the coral triangle at Bunaken National Park, this dive site is a wall dive thriving with marine life like beautiful corals, sponges, and more! Perfect for freediving, scuba diving, and snorkeling as well. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Bodu Hithi / Kuda Thila (★4.4) This site is known well for its manta cleaning station and feeding ground. Here, between December and April, manta rays come for cleaning or plankton feeding. This spot is great for diving and snorkeling. Aqualung Big Fish Country (★4.7) One of the most popular dive sites in the atoll. 7 minutes from Nabucco Islands in northeast direction. The best time to dive is when the current is strong. This dive site is characterized by a channel which turns into a wall at 26 meters. A reef hook is required. iDIVE Komodo, 86554 Labuan Bajo Sebayur Kecil Komodo (★4.6) Sebayur Kecil is a sloping reef. This dive spot is suitable for beginners and those looking to refresh their skills as well as for snorkelers. Usually no to light current is present. Great dive site for searching for small inhabitants, yet deeper down divers can spot different sharks. Marius D. (#1574909) Fish Head (★4.6) Fish Head Thila was formerly known for its enormous population of grey reef sharks. Now it depends on luck, season and the current to see them. The reef plate starts at about 10 meters depth and there can be currents. Fast descent required. Peter S. (#417559) Kuda Rah Thila (★4.6) A stunning underwater pinnacle just minutes away from the island of Kuda Rah. This dive site has been declared a protected marine area. The dive site is better for Advanced certified divers and those who are experienced with a bit of current. Nitrox is recommended. Mares, Janez Kranjc Five Rocks (★4.4) This dive site is quite unique in the fact that the pinnacle has split into five pieces over thousands of years of erosion. The pieces of pinnacle lay at depths of between 12m and 40m. Gregor K. (#2893197) Moofushi Kandu (★4.5) Moofushi Kandu is one of the prime channels in the Maldives to observe Grey Reef Sharks, Mantas, Eagle Rays and other big fellows. The channel entrance has a depth of 40 to 50 Meters. Crossings are only available at moderate currents Peter S. (#417559) Maamigili Beyru (★4.2) Dive site right on the corner of Maamigili Island at the southern end of the Ari Atoll, which also has an airport. Outer reef slowly sloping down to approx. 10 m, then more or less steep wall up to over 40 meters with smaller overhangs and crevices. Depending on the current, right or left shoulder along the reef. Mares Velassaru Cave (★4.2) Velassaru Caves is a beautiful spot on the outside reef of south Male Atoll’s northern tip. The name is given by the dive site location in combination with several overhangs spreading from depth levels between 10 to 30 meters. Mares Clement Reef (★4.4) Located North to North West of Sepanggar Island, this dive site is a slopping bottom with diverse hard coral and is only accessible via boat. Visibility is often very clear at this dive site due to its strategic location between Sepanggar mainland and Sepanggar Island. Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Bathalaa Thila (★4.4) Bathala Thila is a submerged pinnacle east of the resort island Bathala Island. The reef top is about 40 m long and begins at a depth of about 6–10 m. It is covered with anemones and soft and hard corals. Overhangs from 10 to 20 m deep surround the reef. DivePoint Rannalhi, South Male Atoll Rannalhi House Reef (★4.3) This is a very good dive site for all kinds of divers, starting with a gentle slope in the sandy bottom and then moving on to the reef which is quite widespread, with a maximum depth of 17 meters. Since its also a nursery for juveniles, some trevallys coming in to feed. iDIVE Komodo, 86554 Labuan Bajo The Cauldron (★4.6) The Cauldron, aka Shotgun, is one of Komodo’s most popular dive sites and is located at the north end of the park. Famous for its ripping currents, this dive shoots you (like a shotgun) into China Shop, a beautiful protected coral garden. The Cauldron is a great dive for the thrill-seekers! Aqualung Payar Island House Reef (★3.9) Pulau Payer house reef is the located off the main beach of Pulau Payar. A playground for reef fishes and baby black tips, this site also offers decent coral scenery as clusters of hard corals strive in this protected bay. Schools of fusiliers also dwells under the Marine Park Jetty, creating an amazing sight. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Maldives Victory (Wreck) (★4.5) The Maldives Victory is a cargo ship that sank in 1981 just off of the island of Male City and the airport island. This 80m long cargo ship sunk while on its way from Singapore carrying goods for the resort islands. Mares, Janez Kranjc Batu Malang (★4.2) One of the most famous spots in Tioman, the name itself comes from the strange formation of rock hanging above, but not touching the water. This is quite a shallow dive with an amazing variety of corals and sea life. Mares, Janez Kranjc Likuan 3 (★4.5) Located in the middle of the coral triangle at Bunaken National Park, this dive site is a wall dive thriving with marine life like beautiful corals, sponges, and more! Perfect for freediving, scuba diving, and snorkeling as well. Marek T. (#3048856) Miyaru Kandu (★4.4) This channel site is in the northeast of Vaavu atoll. This site is more suited to advanced divers as you can encounter strong currents. When there is less current, the dive site can also be for less experienced divers. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Olhuveli House Reef (★4.3) The dive school located at the end of the main jetty offers access to the house reef, giving you easy excess to the seamless drop-off for diving and snorkeling. One of the best house reef resorts in the Maldives. Night feeding manta rays are here almost every night. Scubapro, Stephen Frink Safari Island House Reef (★4.5) The house reef is a popular spot for snorkelers and divers and is home to a diverse marine life. The reef top starts between 2 to 3m and gently slopes down to a depth of 30 m Aqualung Likuan Pygmy (★4.4) Located in the middle of the coral triangle at Bunaken National Park, this dive site is a wall dive thriving with marine life like beautiful corals, sponges, and more! Perfect for freediving, scuba diving, and snorkeling as well. BALI FUN DIVING, 80224 Denpasar Selatan Gili Biaha, Candidasa (★4.5) This side is on a small island surrounded by rocky walls reaching more than 40 meters deep. On the eastern wall of the island there is a cave. The gate of the cave is at a depth of 12 meters and is a favorite part of this dive site. SUN SIYAM DIVING OLHUVELI, 2005 South Male Atoll Emboodhoo Canyon (★4.4) One of the most popular dive sites in South Male Atoll due to healthy corals and amazing fish life. There are olorful hard corals, soft corals, and fans on a series of large overhangs. Do not miss the narrow passageway between the broken block and the main reef known as Called Canyon. Mares Soyak Island (★4.2) In front of Salang, this small island is ideal if you like nudibranches and underwater landscapes. Lots of rocks are offering shelter to dozens of different species of fish. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Kani Corner (★4.3) Kani Corner is basically a slope that goes to 25 - 30 m in a sandy bottom. There are some big blocks this deep and at the right time, mantas visit the blocks or pass by the top of the reef. The current can be strong so take caution. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male HP Reef / Rainbow Reef (★4.6) One of the most colorful dive sites in North Male Atoll. On the south side of Girifushi island with abundant fish life and very nice soft corals, there are numerous blue soft corals and a swim through. The current can be strong! Scubapro, Stephen Frink Renggis Island (★4.2) One of the most famous dive sites around. Just some rocks and some trees above the surface, but put your face in the water and you will experience a pure tropical aquarium. DivePoint Hudhuran Fushi, 20193 Male Back Kani (★4.6) Easy but always nice dive. The top of the reef drops down from 7m to 30/35m and then runs into the sand. Depending on the current, you simply dive the right or left shoulder. With a little luck, this dive site offers everything that makes diving exciting! Mares, Predrag Vuckovic Barracuda Point 1 (★4.5) This site is located in Mantehage Island (North Of Sulawesi). This is a great wall dive with abundant marine life, beautiful coral, sponges, and more. Perfect for both freediving and scuba diving. iDIVE Komodo, 86554 Labuan Bajo Golden Passage Komodo (★4.3) Golden Passage is located in the north area of Komodo National Park. It is a sloping site with a max depth of 25 meters. A suitable site for experienced divers as current conditions are generally strong. Mares, Janez Kranjc Vilamendhoo Thila (★4.2) Just off the end of the main island reef, this thila sits on the edge of the atoll just in the channel. As such, it gets good pelagics when the current runs like whitetip reef sharks, and occasional manta and hammerheads. Come up on the deep side to check out the frequent eagle rays found cruising this dive site. Mares, Janez Kranjc Arborek Jetty (★4.4) This is a challenging dive and not for the faint hearted. This jetty is a photographers dream with thousands of fish found under the jetty, such as schooling jacks hunting on the smaller silversides. It is not an easy dive due to the strong currents you can experience here. Aqualung Manta Sandy (★4.3) Lean or hook on the nice and flat sandy area at 16 m from where you can enjoy the show of the mantas getting cleaned. This is an easy manta dive site for beginners. While waiting for the manta to come, look for macro in the sandy area, you might even see a flamboyant cuttlefish! 12...8→
