Nitrox refers to all gases with an oxygen content of more than 21%. The higher proportion of oxygen reduces the nitrogen content in the breathing gas, puts less strain on the body and significantly shortens your desaturation times. The SSI Decompression Diving Specialty shows you how to dive beyond no-decompression limits. You will learn to plan and execute dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational diving system and a single decompression tank. You will learn and practice how to effectively use the functions of your dive computer, such as gas exchange or gas integration, as well as remaining air time and ascent time. Using these computer functions will quickly become second nature to you so that you can conduct safe dives with limited decompression without hours of dive planning. Upon completion of the course, you will receive the SSI Decompression Diving Specialty certification, allowing you to explore stunning deep dive sites or large wrecks without the limitation of no-decompression limits. Through online learning and open water and confined water dives, the SSI Scuba Diver program gives you the perfect foundation to become an independent and safe diver.
