Haven't we all unintentionally been underwater alone - not diving solo. How often has your buddy been out of reach or you've been so distracted while taking photos that you've lost your buddy? Although normally diving with a buddy team partner, there may be reasons why experienced divers choose to dive solo (e.g. underwater photography). It is more common to be involuntarily separated from your buddy while diving. During the SSI Independent Diver course you will learn about the potential risks of solo diving and develop the necessary skills and abilities to dive independently, responsibly, autonomously and safely, while becoming a stronger buddy partner or team member on your dives. The SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty course is the best way to improve your buoyancy and experience perfect dives. Buoyancy control is one of the most important diving skills, but as any experienced diver will tell you, it takes time to perfect. In this course you will learn challenging buoyancy skills and techniques to help you master your buoyancy faster. As a dry suit diver you can dive warm and comfortable in cold waters all year round. Only dry suit diving opens up the special underwater landscapes of cold water to you: dives on the icebergs in the remote Arctic or fascinating places teeming with life despite the cold. Dry suits are also great if you dive several times a day. Instead of struggling to get out of the cold, wet wetsuit each time, the dry suit diver simply leaves his suit on. The best way to dry suit dive is the SSI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course. Here you will gain the necessary knowledge and learn all the skills to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit. This includes how to use the special equipment and how to deal with difficult situations and problems with the dry suit. At the end of the course you will receive the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty certification.

This specialty course provides you with the knowledge and advanced skills you need to navigate safely and confidently underwater. You will learn the correct use of the compass, natural navigation techniques, estimating distances, leaving and returning to a given point and simple navigation patterns. You will also learn how to combine navigation techniques to optimize your diving experience. All of this will sharpen your underwater observation skills, increase your diving safety and help you get the most out of every dive. Upon completion of the course, you will receive the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

Want to get the most out of your dive time and have fun underwater? Then discover diving with a DPV/dive scooter. In this course you will learn the skills and procedures to plan and carry out such dives safely. You will learn the special precautions for using scooters/DPVs, how to stay in contact with your dive buddy, how to check the rest of your equipment and how to enjoy your new diving experience with a DPV safely! Upon completion of the course, you will receive the SSI Scooter/DPV Diving Specialty certification and be able to dive with a scuba scooter/DPV to depths of up to 30 meters.

You are a recreational diver and want to extend your no-decompression limits without having to start technical diving and buy new equipment. Then the SSI Decompression Diving course is just right for you. This course introduces you to diving with accelerated decompression using your recreational diving equipment and an additional stage. The key points of the course are a maximum depth of 40 meters, a maximum of 40% Nitrox and 15 minutes of decompression time, and upon successful completion of your training you will receive the SSI Decompression Diver certification, your ticket to the world of diving with decompression stops. This certification allows you to dive independently accompanied by a dive buddy to a recommended depth of 40 meters and perform an accelerated decompression of up to 15 minutes with a maximum of 40% Nitrox. This course is designed for experienced divers, photographers, underwater archaeologists and dive leaders. The aim is to learn techniques and skills to be able to help yourself outside the buddy system. The aim of the course is not to go diving alone. Rather, we discuss various diving techniques and the increased demands on your equipment together and put these into practice. We teach this course with a maximum of two students. You do the open water lessons 1 to 1 with your instructor.
