Haselbacher See
The Haselbacher See is a flooded former open cast lignite mine. It is located at the state border of Saxony / Thuringia and is used differently. On Saxonian territory, the water sovereignty lies with the DAV - Saxony as tenant. The Thuringian part is used for water sports and tourism.
In the Haselbacher See a very diverse underwater flora and fauna has developed since the flooding. Very strongly represented are carp, perch, and roach.
