An excellent site for viewing larger marine life on the north side of Gili Trawangan. A flat sandy bottom turns into a series of progressively deeper canyons that run parallel to the shore. The Glen Nusa shipwreck is located at the northern part of the site in 28m of water.
Considered a “muck diving“ site, Hans Reef sits just off the east coast of Gili Air and provides great opportunitities for macro photographers or those wanting to see some of the smaller, stranger creatures found here.
Hans Reef is a gentle sandy slope that runs parallel to the shore and features a large coral mound and smaller outcrops. It is suitable for divers of all experience levels and is often used for training. It is excellent for night diving and navigation. Coral blocks attract a lot of marine life!
Off the west side of Gili Air is a sandy slope known for its coral bommies, soft coral, and macro marine life. Amongst the marine life here you can find schools of fusiliers and snappers. This is a great site for every level of diver.
This site is a shallow plateau with a slope located to the northeast of Gili Trawangan. The dive site offers a wide array of marine life and coral and is famous for its big schools of fusiliers, red tooth triggerfish, and long jaw mackerel.
As the name suggests this wall is one of the largest in the area with a completely vertical drop from 5-30 meters, running along part of the Eastern side of Gil Air.
A gently sloping reef on the south side of Gili Trawangan with a good variety of hard and soft corals, interspersed with bommies and large table corals that shelter the fish.
On the east end of Meno you can find this long sea mound which stretches almost the whole length of the island. A beautiful deep dive, famous for the beautiful coral, where you can find lots of cool small stuff like glass shrimp and porcelain crabs.
A great deep dive that offers a variety of corals not seen at the other dive sites. At 30m, this site has a sandy bottom between large sea mounds. These sea mounds range in size and have an interesting variety of overhangs and outcrops.
The harbour of Gili Air is home to much of the smaller marine life around the islands. As well as having frogfish, pipefish, seahorses, and other macro life, it is also the home for the famous mandarin fish, seen either on dawn- or dusk dives. A popular dive site for the macro crazed diver.
Coral Basket is perfect for beginners and advanced divers. With a small wall full of life in the shallows and some beautiful coral ridges in the deeper parts of the divesite.
Northeast of Gili Meno another Gili dive site with great topography is found. Taket Malang, with its sea mounts, stretch from 7m down to 40m deep and is a great site for divers looking to experience the sensation of flying over mountains.
Sloping hard coral slope from 8m to 18m. Many bommies scattered throughout the dive site acting as cleaning stations. After 18m it is mostly sandy areas and bommies.
Bio Rocks are a project to help the re-growth of damaged reefs. They are man-made metallic structures which have healthy living corals attached to them, and the a small electric current put through them to speed up the procedure of making a new healthy reef.
