Momase Region is one of the four regions of Papua New Guinea (PNG) and takes up most of the north east part of the island. The main town from where divers can experience some of the best diving in the region is Madang. The shores of Madang lies on the Bismarck Sea and due to the volcanic rock, is very nutrient rich. The local dive centres and dive resorts will take divers out on short boat trips to some of the best dive sites in the region. There are so many underwater experiences to be had here, from airplane wrecks to shipwrecks, from steep walls to lagoons, and from flourishing coral reefs to schools of different species of Sharks. What ties all these experiences together and makes it even more enjoyable is the warm climate here, with temperatures ranging between 24°C and 30°C, and water temperatures ranging between 27°C and 29°C.
