Open Water Diver CHECK OUT DIVES: LOCAL

Nitrox is the key. Due to the reduced fraction of nitrogen in your breathing gas, your body will have less work and the desaturation times will be reduced. In your ENRICHED AIR NITROX program you will learn all the necessary rules for planning dives with Nitrox and using Nitrox in a safe way. An important key point in the entire program is analyzing your own tank prior to any Nitrox dive. You must be a certified open water diver or currently taking an open water diver course with us to enroll. This is a one-night class. Plan to spend a couple of hours in class. You must come to class with your Online Course material COMPLETE! An 'Academic Completion Certificate' will be printed when your online course has been completed, you will sign this when you come to class. This certificate acknowledges that you have done the academic portion of this class. The instructor will go over the critical points of the course material and will teach you how to use the analyzer, but this is a home study program. Come to class ready to take the test on the class date. You must pay for the class to obtain online access and to be guaranteed a spot. Give us a call for the price and/or to reserve your spot.

As a Nitrox diver, you can increase your bottom times and safety margins, plus shorten your surface intervals - so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting! In this program, you will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge whilst learning how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you will earn an SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 40% certification.

This is the final step in obtaining your SSI Open Water Diver certification. Five dives over the course of two days. Saturday at Lake Thurmond, Sunday at the Savannah River (conditions permitting). (If you're not a current student with our dive center and would like to upgrade your referral certification to OWD, please call to reserve your spot.) The price includes: 5 training dives, Equipment (BCD, regulator, cylinders, and wetsuit), and lunch on both days. Does not include: a mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, weights, weightbelt, SMB, or logbook. (Neptune students are required to have this equipment to participate in the course.)
