Basic Diver

In the SSI Basic Diver program, you will learn the skills and knowledge you need to try diving up to 12 meters deep with an SSI Professional. It is a great way to explore the underwater world more fully as you try diving. The entire Basic Diver program can be credited towards the Scuba Diver or Open Water Dive programs within 6 months, so you can take the next step in your dive adventure.

This program is the start of a lifelong adventure as a qualified scuba diver. You will receive personalized personalized training and in-water training sessions to learn and practice the skills and experience needed to not only be able to dive, but to dive with confidence. But to be able to dive with confidence and comfort. You will receive your SSI Open Water Diver license at the end of this program.

You'll experience Deep Diving and Navigation as well as a variety of 3 other specialty areas of your choice before committing to full specialty training. It's a great way to experience what advanced diver training means and how important it is to your diving adventures. During the Advanced Open Water Diver program, you will experience 5 different specialties by completing open water training dives for each specialty after a thorough briefing with your SSI instructor. Through this program you will have complete freedom to explore. You can complete the full specialties training at any time in the future and certify your Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) training in training for them.

The Instructor Evaluation (IE) is the final step of SSI’s 2-Step Instructor Training Approach Divemasters or equivalent-level professionals will have to successfully complete the Instructor Training Course (ITC) first where you’ll learn how to: • Conduct academic sessions • Lead confined water training • Teach Open Water Diver and various Specialty programs like Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress&Rescue, Perfect Buoyancy and more • Develop student management and communication skills Already an experienced instructor with another agency? You may be eligible for shortened oboarding options where you will only have to complete certain parts of the Instructor Training Course (ITC) followed by passing an Instructor Evaluation (IE). Get started today - You must be a Divemaster or equivalent to join SSI's 3-step instructor training approach. The training process begins by joining the Assistant Instructor / Instructor Training Course group with digital learning. After successfully completing the ITC, you will take the Instructor Evaluation (IE) to qualify as an SSI Open Water Instructor (OWI). This 10-day training program gives you the right to independently teach different major SSI programs such as Scuba Diver, Open Water Diver, Enriched Air Nitrox, Diver Stress & Rescue, and Dive Guide. For those who want to take more time to learn and gain valuable teaching experience between training programs, the three parts can also be taken as individual steps - Assistant Instructor, Instructor Training Course (ITC), Instructor Evaluation (IE) and Instructor Evaluation (IE) - one after the other at their own pace and with a flexible schedule.

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty will teach you everything you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters, through a combination of academic sessions and open water diving. You will learn to plan and safely complete your deep diving adventures and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most out of your deep dives. Upon completion, you will receive your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you choose. This SSI specialty is also a prerequisite for some advanced training, making it the next logical step to take in your diving education.

As a Nitrox diver, you can increase your bottom dive times and safety margin, as well as shorten your surface dives - so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting! In this program, you will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge as you learn how to plan and dive safely using enriched air mixtures containing up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you will receive your SSI Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) 32% or 40% certification.
