Convinsible Wreck & Cherub’s Cave Dive Adventure
Get ready for a thrilling underwater journey as we explore two of Moreton Island’s most captivating dive sites!
Convinsible Wreck
Step into history at the Convinsible, a small steel cruiser that sank in May 2006. Though stripped of all loose items, the wreck’s bare hull now rests majestically on the coarse sandy bottom, blanketed in thick, pale green kelp—the same kelp that dances around the nearby Hendersons Rock. It’s a serene yet mysterious playground for adventurous divers.
Cherub’s Cave
Dive into the enchanting Cherub’s Cave, a hidden underwater wonder once guarded by a small concrete cherub. Though the guardian has vanished, the cave itself is ready to amaze. This large circular cavern, roughly 20 by 15 metres, offers six different exits—perfect for a ‘choose-your-own-adventure’ style dive! Surrounding rocky gullies, smaller caves, and dramatic overhangs are teeming with life. Keep your eyes peeled for barracuda, kingfish, trevally, turtles, gropers, and wobbegong sharks. In winter, grey nurse sharks gather in the gutters, adding a thrilling twist to your dive.
