In the SSI Basic Diver program, you will learn the skills and knowledge you need to try diving up to 12 meters deep with an SSI Professional. It is a great way to explore the underwater world more fully as you try diving. The entire Basic Diver program can be credited towards the Scuba Diver or Open Water Dive programs within 6 months, so you can take the next step in your dive adventure.
In this sidemount diving course you will learn everything you need to go recreational sidemount diving with one or two scuba gear to a maximum depth of 30 meters or your certification depth, whichever is deeper. Sidemount mountain diving is already a common practice for wreck, mine and cave divers, but its benefits are now being discovered by more recreational divers. You will be more comfortable in the water when you don't have a heavy tube on your back and you will find that your setup and trim improve effortlessly. By using less energy you can reduce your gas consumption and make the most of your dive time. With better buoyancy control, easier access to your valves and more redundancy, sidemount diving offers safety and peace of mind. SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC) lasts 12 days in total.
SSI Decompression Diving Expertise will teach you how to dive beyond your limits without decompression. You will learn how to plan and execute dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters with limited decompression using your recreational total diving system and a single decompression cylinder. You will learn and practice how to effectively use your dive computer features including gas switching, gas integration, reserve time and surface time. Using these computer functions will become second nature, allowing you to dive safely with limited decompression without hours of dive planning. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Decompression Diving Specialist certification and be able to explore breathtaking deep dive sites or larger wrecks without being restricted by traditional non-decompression limits.
