This course is a refresher course, which means you must already hold the SSI React Right certification or a comparable first aid certification. The purpose of the React Right course is to continue to maintain your existing skills and stay up-to-date with the latest emergency response guidelines and techniques. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to guide certified divers, help them gain more experience in a safe environment, and grow further yourself by planning and leading dives. The SSI Dive Guide training lays the foundation for a versatile dive leader who can be used in a wide range of situations. The program consists of several modules and upon completion offers a smooth transition to advanced training. For example, by completing the Science of Diving specialty and going through the online upgrade program you already become an SSI Divemaster! Moreover, this path opens up opportunities to work on boats or in resorts.

In this specialty program you will gain the skills and knowledge you need to safely and confidently navigate underwater. You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, how to depart from and return to a designated point including basic navigation patterns. You will also learn how to combine these navigation techniques to enhance your diving experience. All this enhances your underwater observation skills, improves your dive safety and helps you get the most out of every dive. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification.

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty teaches you everything you need to dive to depths between 18 and 40 meters through a mix of theory and open water diving. You'll learn how to plan and make your deep diving adventures safe and use computers and gas consumption calculations to get the most out of your deep dives. Upon completion, you will earn your SSI Deep Diving Specialty certification and be able to explore beautiful deep dive sites wherever you want. This SSI specialty is also a requirement for other advanced courses making it the next logical step to get your Deep Diver certification.

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue specialty program teaches you the skills you need to protect yourself and other divers. You'll learn how to recognize stress, prevent accidents and learn practical techniques to perform rescues and provide emergency care. With a combination of sessions in the pool and in open water, you'll be well prepared and confident in handling emergencies and rescue situations. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue Specialty certification.

The Assistant Instructor certification is the next step after becoming a Divemaster and another step on your path to becoming a dive instructor. It gives you valuable teaching experience. You will practice briefings, teach theory and teach in the water. If you want to continue your career as a diving professional you can complete the Instructor Training Course, pass an Instructor Evaluation and thus become an Open Water Diving Instructor.
